I noticed this in dragonflight when I got that itch to go back to wow. I don't think there was a straight couple in any quests for that expansion. But you had a gay lizard couple, an interracial lesbian couple and 2 gay humans. It has fallen so far.

You're not missing anything. They've turned the game into a glorified lobby with menial tasks and mini games inbetween. You can get geared easily, and there's almost no social interaction at all. Even the RP realms are quiet.
