Right now I'm trying to play cities skylines 2 . It was released about 2 years ago. When they released it they admitted it wasn't ready but implied it would be fixed within months. What they released was like an alpha release, basic game functionality was non functional. It did not become up to the standards of a beta test for a year at which point it mostly worked except tons of bugs, game did not work right but playable if you don't care about the strategy of the game

The game is still not fully functional including strategy. Thf traffic management after the last update is so bad as to be unplayable.

And now I sit here watching a loading screen because the game will no longer load

That's apparently the reason but they have handled their failure to achieve their goal horrendously. Right after they launched the game non functional they went on month long vacation with no work on fixing it (they're European)

This. Part of why I liked Max Payne 3 so much was because it was set in Brazil which not many games have been made in. I'm still waiting for the 3D GTA game set in London. I'd like one set in Tokyo or Singapore, or Dubai or Johannesburg or Moscow or wherever. Test Drive Unlimited was another game that was partly so memorable because of the unique local of the Hawaiian islands that was fucking beautiful. Assassin's Creed is the only mainstream game series that seems to still understand the value of diverse environments, even if it is freemason programming(like most mainstream games).
