The 2025 list removed a bunch of the actual food like potatoes and celery and shit and replaced it all with frozen walmart brand, cut the list of items almost in half and it still only went down by 25%. I'm not doing the work but I bet money if you used the exact same list from last year it would cost more.

I know it depends on where they live specifically but I think a bigger component to what their answer was is their opinion on Trump. So that’s why it feels like it’s impossible to know the truth about things like this, Trump haters would never admit if the administration has managed to lower costs and Trump lovers would never admit if things are more expensive. There's a confluence of expenses piling up on people, and people are in a wide range of financial states. For instance, my "rent" really hasn't gone up because i have a mortgage... So I'm paying $1000 per month for a fucking house.
