It isn't about being born in a certain place either because that's a retarded take and it is a shallow definition of belonging, it's the fact that without the European settlers plus their descendants there would be no New Zealand or a concept of New Zealand. All it would be is a bunch of tribes killing and eating each other which they were famous for doing and they would still be doing it to this very day. New Zealand itself IS European, take the European people's out of New Zealand and it ceases to be New Zealand.

This, the Maori weren't even the original inhabitants of where New Zealand is. They took all the land from other tribal people and quite literally genocided those tribes and ate them so they could poop them out later as a sign of defeating them/humiliation ritual.
