Used to be a big building filled with stores that had no doors, you could spend the whole day walking around. They had food courts which were basically cafeterias

Now we have strip malls. A big anchor store, maybe a couple and smaller stores all around each their own building as you have to walk through a door to go inside

true. malls as they are now are a capitalist bastardization from how they were originally presented. originally they were supposed to be a local market in front of large housing buildings, so people didn't have to drive
