You can't put hands on someone period and communicating a threat+carrying out a physical assault is enough in many places to justify full on homicidal response. He had no clue what the guy was intending, he'd just been cornered and assaulting, he had no ability to retreat. Fatty deciding a few bullets in that it was a bad idea and trying to abscond from a situation he himself deliberately created isn't enough to turn it into a murder. A general rule is once you feel your life is threatened enough to shoot, shoot to kill, and don't stop shooting until the target is dead or completely beyond where it started. The place some people fuck up there is chasing the target, but this guy didn't do that. He remained where he was and mag dumped until the guy was dead. Doing anything less can communicate you didn't actually think your life was in danger.
