For current practitioners of that faith, give me a qrd on what you guys are about and what your beliefs are. What are your mission trips like and where did you end up going? Etc

For those of you who left that church, why did you do so and what are your thoughts on that former faith of yours now? What did you end up changing your beliefs to in the aftermath?

I lived in Salt Lake City (unfortunately) for a bit and was within walking distance of the Temple Square, but oddly enough I never really got a good read in that religion beyond that

One of the few things I know about them is that BYU in Provo and Hawaii and Idaho are borderline free if you’re a verified member of that church. BYU also has stuff like “date nights” and I think even a day care? I forget. But I do know for sure that some people from Provo go on to become investment bankers and politicians which is nuts

I'm probably not the best to speak on the subject since I consider myself culturally LDS and not spiritually. I have seen the church bring men to God but most are just sheep like any religion. I take issue with any sect that starts to think they are the way and not Christ. That being said, the last few presidents we have had got pretty soft. Like most things these days I suspect what got my ancestors to give me this land has been subverted. At one point I considered it one of the best Christian sects because it does it's best to push members to study and decide for themselves and makes available an insane amount of resources to educate its members. Most LDS teens take an extra class in the last 4 years before graduating high school and study the 4 major segments of the scriptures, 1 each year. Anyway, the jew marches on and we can't have anything nice.
