This. Chiropractors are quacks who occasionally paralyze their clients. When I was about 20 or so, I was a massage therapist interning for a chiropractor. Before he accepted me as an intern, he made me swear allegiance to Jesus Christ. I did it because I was raised in the church, even though by that point I had abandoned Christianity. Anyways, the chiropractor was a smug prick and even though all of his clients said I was the best massage therapist they had ever had, when I told the chiropractor this he shrugged it off and said "I guess that's something." Hopefully he's dead.

Garbage. Physiotherapy is the only real relief, and that is mainly through a program of retraining, stretching and rebuilding muscles in the gym. Hands-on is a small part of it.

It works.
I was about 28 got of the shower, and my legs gave out, like someone threw a switch.
I thought it was muscle related, so I went to a massage therapist, every week for probably 3 months. I had a bad pain in my lower back. It was always there and it helped but didn't cure it.
Then they recommended I try a Chiropractor
So I found one, he was great, took a full body xray of me and showed how fucked up my body was.
My right leg was like 10mm shorter that the other. That was causing my whole spine to adjust for the shortness. So my hips were crooked, that made the spine crooked and my neck crooked, it was fucked up looking. I wore a lift in my shoe for 2 years and it basically jacked up my leg and made them even out.
This cured my back pain, and I've not had any issues. Every now and again maybe once a year I get a wrinkle and I go get it popped back into place.
Without a doubt if I had went to a doctor they would have fused my fucking spine and fucked me up for life.
If you have issues, give it a try.
I'm 53 now, and no problem, still work every week, and no issues.

I never am for one for medicine, or care of any kind. I kind of just deal with my problems. I got into a really bad MTB accident where I dislocated both my arms and my back and neck got totally jacked up. I was a mess for months, I eventually healed and obviously things were not exactly "factory spec'. I ended up messing my back up again by bending over and sneezing. a critical mistake post 30 years old. Anyway that completely fucked me and I was desperate for relief, I went to a chiropractor after it was recommended by a friend. for 40 fucking dollars its like this dide took my spine, smacked it across the face and was like "get straight, bitch". He grabbed my head and hanged my neck out of my torso and cracked every single vertebrae in my body. He grabbed both my legs and adjusted the fk out of them too. it felt as if God himself disassembled my skeleton and then put it back together. Best 40 dollars I ever spent desu.

They have some interesting techniques, like 'tailbone adjustments,' where they supposedly change the position of the coccyx by sticking a finger up the person's ass and pressing upwards. Supposedly, this reduces 'impingement' on certain nerves near the spinal base, and can treat chronic pain in the back or legs. But I suspect it's mostly an excuse so that chiros can stick their fingers up people's assholes.
