Gene editing = EUGENICS
Gene editing technology like CRISPR will soon be used to wipe out disabled and neurodivergent identities. Already they’ve used it to “cure” Down syndrome and are experimenting to use it to wipe out sickle cell difference and genetic differences that cause deafness. Soon they WILL use it to eradicate autism and other neurodivergent identities like ADHD and bipolar difference. This is PURE EUGENICS.
We need to stop this technology from developing before the disabled are completely genocides because of it. We need to recognize that disability is entirely socially constructed and the actual leftist view is that disability should never be “cured” but rather society needs to be transformed to a society of caregivers whereby the entire community provides care for disabled and neurodivergent folx. We need to read more critical disability studies and recognize the disabled as crucial to our world. But the eugenicists who control society don’t want that since they do not believe the disabled are “useful” to capitalism. Eugenics is the very IDEOLOGICAL BACKBONE of capitalism. Any real leftist would dedicate the bulk of their work to stopping eugenicists from eradicating the disabled. And if we’re going to do that we HAVE to stopCRISPR from advancing further.
Don’t buy the arguments about “quality of life.” “Quality of life” is a eugenicist term for “useful lives matter more than disabled lives.” Any legitimate socialist realizes you cure society NOT disability.
