It’s a ZOG state just like anywhere else. I live in east Texas, born and raised. People have a lot of pride in Texas but there’s nothing to really back up the pride. The government sucks, the cities suck and there are too many niggers and Mexicans, and the houses are insanely expensive even in the sticks.

Guess what, neither does Nevada. Nevada also has much lower property taxes. Nevada is also ranked #1 in personal freedom, and #2 in public lands only behind Alaska.
In Nevada you can gamble at casinos, smoke in bars, use brothels, shoot suppressed belt-fed machine guns, open carry, concealed carry, get gay married, get an abortion, grow weed, and go fuck off into the public lands and never be found if you don't want to be.

They're damn close to some property tax change that would fuck everything like California. Being Cali with worse jobs and weather isn't a good value proposition. The biggest redeeming factor of TX is that Abbot is simultaneously anti-crime and anti-NIMBY, so the state doesn't have the same cost of living crisis as the rest, while also not being as stagnant as much of the South.

The upper middle class in Brownsville are super nice, mostly Hispanic. Just get used to it being 90% Hispanic. The property taxes don’t make sense though. You pay more than a place in Dallas with worse schools and services. If you have kids look for a good private school, charter school, or STISD. Avoid public schools at all costs.

Texas is a case study for how Republican policies suck ass. Abott has destroyed the state's infrastrucutre and defunded public schools to pay for rich kids to go to sky daddy schools instead. Because fuck the poor or investing in your state. The only reason the TX economy is where it is, is due to fossil fuels, refineries, and corporate regulations so lax they may as well not exist. Go to West Texas, every goddamned lake/river is poison and literally looks/tastes like antifreeze. Everything north/west of Abilene reeks of cow shit for hundreds of miles.

There are a couple of decent areas like Corpus Christie but even those have gotten so overwhelmed with retired boomers it is insufferable and unaffordable.

Actual oldschool Texan cultures and attitudes are kind of dead. And it's hard to explain this to people who have no conception of Texas prior to the past couple decades. Native-born Texans tended to be kind of irreverent and independent.

The modern stereotype of Texans as brain-dead Jew-worshiping golems developed in large part due to out-of-state migration. 'Conservative' Californians and New Yorkers who moved to Texas because they felt unwelcome or persecuted due to their religious fanaticism. Those kinds of weirdos.

Combine this with a money-grubbing elite which has brought in massive numbers of foreigners and out-of-state corporations, and we're getting closer and closer to declaring Texas DOA in terms of what it used to be. Actual Texans know it, too. Much of 'Texas' today is a skinsuit worn (poorly) by outsiders trying to live a LARP.
