Is there any real doubt that most of what you learn in both of these institutions is useless, and that the later in particular is a total scam outside some very specific fields.

People should get a thorough elementary education to cover the basics and then finish school at 13-14. From here, paid apprenticeships in the workplace, possibly with some part time adjunct tutelage.

The amish and other anabaptist communities are right about so many things, and this is one of them. Also this holds true for most of the system, but the fact that so many schools esp high schools are awful quality (some are virtually insane asylums) - this only strengthens the point. Allot of people become dumber and less mature in these places than they where when they entered.

there are allot of terrible schools in this country, esp second level, genuinely awful places where very little of practical value is learned

if you get a good primary education, you already have all the real grammatical and mathematical skills you need going forward

secondary school is mostly a complete waste of time that exists seemingly for no real reason other than to provide teachers with fake jobs

its also a highly unnatural environment, packing so many of what are, essentially, young men and woman into a building and treating them as literal children (which promotes delinquent behavior on their part)

what do you learn thats of any use in this society ?

the only things of use are agricultural studies, trade subjects, biology and possibly chemistry. And why not just let people enter those professions directly as apprentices.

Actually true. Male ambition and drive kick in hard during late high school. It's natural to want to join the work force, and find a mentor who can teach them something practical while also making money and quantifying their real value. Keeping them stuck in desks and passive for an extra 6+ years is done to break their spirit. High school should be done by 14-15. Everything after that can be optional for the studious types, or picked back up later in life through college

it really is a total waste. Provided you got a stellar primary education (which admittedly not everyone did) - your more or less ready for either a workplace apprenticeship or even collage (altho i consider much of third level to be useless)

the idea that the intermediary of high school is any way necessary is a myth. Most of what you learn is irrelevant to your chosen path
