What should be done about all the homeless people in the US? It used to be pretty rare seeing them in my city of 70,000 people. Now I see multiple homeless people every day.

The right thing to do probably is just to open up some land and let the homeless build their own shantytown slums and just "not" tear them down. It makes more sense than constantly shuffling the homeless around and stealing their tents and possessions. People in shantytowns can find local jobs and there are actually shops and businesses inside shantytown slums in other parts of the world. The people in the slums aren't just sitting around all day,

The US lost a lot of power and has to just accept that some parts of it are going to resemble the third world. We have to "play by the same rules" that other countries do.

Spay and neuter them, and put them in camps with some military to keep some semblence of order. Separate out the the ones who are willing to accept help. Have different levels of homeless camps. Nice camps for people who are just a bit down on their luck, or kids who got kicked out of the house at 18 with no preparation for real life, the nice camps have job training, people living in it are paid to keep it clean and running smoothly. But folks who can't hack it there get kicked into the more prison-like camps. At the bottom just treat them like feral animals let them run around naked in the woods and live like cavemen since they want to anyway.

A single homeless person is an issue. And it takes time and money to help them. The amount of time, money, and effort that is required to help the homeless in America is going to be expensive. But everyday that a homeless exists it becomes more expensive. And then combine that with the percentage of homeless people increasing.

I’m homeless, I work full-time but I live in a tent because I can’t afford rent.

That said, the U.S. has two ways, at least in California, to deal with it. If the homeless is a drug addict then they just need to check into a hospital which will set them up with detox and sober living and they will have their rent paid there for several months until they find a jerb.

If the homeless person is not an addict, then they need to apply for a homeless shelter, which has a waiting list. If they get accepted and they have a job, they are required to save 60% of their income. On the meantime they are put on another list for affordable housing (unless they are still looking for a job). Once they get the go ahead they are given an apartment and the rent is based on percentage of income

The reason I haven’t applied for a homeless shelter is because I hate people and prefer being a hermit even if it means pitching a tent away from them

Fix economy, create low cost housing options (really fixing the economy does this on its own) and allow homeless to do things like sleep in their car in peace (maybe provide zones to do this with a police presence if people are acting too much like niggers) at LEAST at first

After that the only homeless people are people who just want to be homeless for a backpacker lifestyle, watch their communities for criminals and convict them, the ones who are not criminals are just doing what makes them happy and aren't a problem, but fine them or otherwise kick their ass when they're being a public nuisance

A homeless person could do most jobs the non homeless do. Most arent even addicts they just have no mailing address and our infrastructure makes it very difficult if not impossible to get out of homelessness once you are homeless.
