I live in a part of the Puget Sound where there are extremely significant "geomagnetic" (electrical/ground current/telluric) "anomalies" (fields with a LOT of local variation). It is extremely weird here, with all sorts of odd effects observed over the past 25 years. Like drop something into the trash can that instead falls sideways (though isn't fluffy/aerodynamically resistant). Things zooming off shelves. When solar stuff happens it gets more so.
It varies a lot with the tides as well--our largest Nov. tidal variation was on the weekend. But when the "king tides" coincide with this solar stuff, the house creaks and cracks, the forest birds get all wacky, electrical problems galore, all sorts of things happen.
It's neat that people are starting to notice. Our ancestors did.
