Damn people are retarded.
Literally the first video demonstrates exactly why it works.
This might help, color the top half of the egg, how far of an angle do you need to go to see the bottom color.
If light didn't work this way if we turned about an object it would be invisible at certain angles. It's better to think of light as radiation, and actually then light is invisible most of the time in most directions except the ones directed into out eyes. We can't see the light from a lightbulb unless we look directly at it, otherwise we're looking at indirect light that is remitted from objects reflecting it.
Light is radiating from the source and when it hits an object it will emit light radiation too in a way called reflection. How those photons are returns is actually what cases different colors because it changes the white light's spectra. So you can sort of think of lit objects as also radiating light. Mirrors are technically not visible, they're literally just remitting the light exactly as it comes. So when we look at a mirror the light radiation from ourselves can be thought of as reflecting from a sphere of radiation. For each point projection on your surface there is a sufficient angle so that it comes back to your eye and what you're seeing is those lights rays that intersect with your eye.
There are some that don't which is why someone else can see you in the mirror too.
So just pick one point to propagate from the egg behind the paper, there are sufficient angle which will emit so that they are reflected by they mirror and when you eye is also in the direction against those angles you will also see those rays of light, and thus the object.
Literally all of these videos are exactly demonstrating that. Look at how far to the side and close to the mirror they have to get, they are literally demonstrating why and how it works!
Ok well I'm also an optical scientist, so maybe I'm just being as asshole.
