There is barely any new talent that can rise to the top of the ticket
>Jacob Fatu
>Bron Breakker
>Penta
>Dominik Mysterio
>El Grande Americano

Who else is gonna carry the company for the next 10 years? Almost all of the wrestlers on the top are peaked out by age or going over the hill
>Randy Orton
>LA Knight
>CM Punk
>AJ Styles
>Cody Rhodes
>Roman Reigns
>
>Gunter
>Usos
>New Day
>Drew McIntyre
>Sheamus
>Finn Balor
>Kevin Owens
>Rey Mysterio
>Ron Killings
>The Miz
Are we really expecting Andrade, Aleister Black, and Bronson Reed to carry the brand?
Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes have dropped off the fucking earth and the Wyatt 6 don't even fucking exist.
Every Samoan except Jacob is dead on arrival.

So who are supposed to be main eventing in a few years when all these old people are hanging up their caps?
Joe Hendry, Mr. Iguana, and Trick Williams can't fill the void on arrival to the main roster.

It's crazy how few names they have lined up to do this at the moment. They're still hinging on 50 year olds. The new guys that they are pushing as main event/world champion guys are all late 30s at best and most are already in their 40s. NXT isn't producing anyone worth a shit on the men's side and hasn't for ages. Maybe Femi? But once he hits the main roster we'll see how that goes
It's pretty much Bron, Jacob, Dom, and maybe Solo

Trick Williams could bring some heat, I just don't understand how other NXT converts have been so underutilized
Andrade and Carmelo had a great series of matches last year and then they didn't do shit with the momentum of that for either of them. Now Carmelo is the Miz's understudy? And Andrade is drowning in a sea of hungry luchadors from AAA.

The most obvious guys to be on top in future WWE (which are not yet late 30's or older) are all nepo babies. Doesn't this suggest that it takes top wrestlers who don't have connections way too long to get into E? Maybe we just won't see tenures as long as (and debuts as young as) Randy/Cena anymore under TKO and people will just be hired when they get over and fired when they're not.

among guys in WWE that are in their early 30s, let’s say 32 or younger, we have
>bron
>jacob
>trick
>oba
>melo
>jevon
>logan
>dom
>myles borne?
>sean legacy?
as guys that i could realistically see being made into main event headliners one day. but that “one day” is the problem. these guys aren’t getting any younger, they’re in their athletic primes now and will only get slower and more sawdusted as time goes on.
HHH has been basically entirely unwilling to let young guys enter the main event scene. only bron is under 30 and doing it and he might not even be a world champion before 30. vince wanted it to be theory, and i like theory personally, but HHH completely tanked his trajectory towards achieving main event young guy theory when he took over and i don’t think we’ll ever get it back.
all of these 40 year old fossils that won’t shit and get off the pot are gonna be main eventing until they retire in 10 years, at which point all of the guys i named are gonna be 40 year old fossils planning retirement and working slowly.
problem is they’re “proven draws” so they don’t wanna experiment and push new guys to the forefront and relegate the old farts to the midcard except for AJ for some reason.

The issue is outside of the few guys listed, nobody has an interesting character. If they're boring on the mic and the storylines are shit no one is going to be drawn to them. It goes back to the producers and booking, if it's shit the product will be shit.

Is it safer? I get what you're saying but Owen's package piledrivers were so hilariously far off the mat that I think that was a precondition (along with the story) for doing them. Maybe Fatu will unlock the Rikishi driver for a future feud.
Besides, I only care about seeing Bron perform the far superior Steiner screwdriver.

Logan Paul is getting more experience under his belt and he has had more matches in the past 6 months than many on the roster. People hate him for how he got there, but in another 3-4 years he will eventually be accepted as a legit telent. The entire drone segment on Saturday is something he proposed to management back in 2023, it was one of the most talked about moments on social media from Money in Bank.

He makes people seethe but he is gradually "earning" his right to be there.

Logan's athleticism and omni-heat from the crowd are definitely potent, but dude is still a part timer.

He can't be a headliner insofar as the other wrestlers who have to carry the brand week in and out. He just shows up to be the biggest heel with great matches when he feels like it. Like a worse version of 2010s brock.

The only ones I've seen with true longterm potential are Bron, Jacob, Dom and Oba. Maybe they could do something with Penta too. A good booker could do kino stuff with him. Him and Dom could become longtime foes for example. Maybe Ricky Starks and Ethan Page could be top guys too. I don't really rate them but they tick a lot of boxes for WWE.

That'll have to wait for Scott's son who is 3 inches taller than him and way bigger physically to pull off. Could you imagine the pop if he made the Steiner Screwdriver his finisher?

You just need one guy to run with and the rest will follow if you book it right. It's that simple. No matter the promotion or size you're almost always going to have:
>A past era legend who's still good enough to feud with and put your guy over
>Someone good enough to play the weird gimmick/monster heel/evil foreigner role
>Someone to lead the top heel faction
>Someone unexpected who gets over (not guaranteed)
>Someone great jumping from another company
>A #2 guy to pass the torch to
You keep all of these roles separate and that's the secret sauce to forming a solid main event scene. Then you turn people, change it up, everyone feuds with everyone, people cycle in and out. Obviously this isn't always how it goes, but that's how WWE built multiple different eras. AEW started out doing an approximation of that. AJPW did it in the 90s, NJPW did it in the 2010s.

HHH sure, as much as Ahmed Johnson and Marc Mero. Do you see Fake Diesel getting over as Taker's masked brother? Do you see Rocky "Sucks" Maivia becoming a massive celebrity? Do you see them actually putting the big one on Foley? Do you see Vince and his family becoming wacky main characters? Do you see Kurt Angle happening at all? Shit, Ken Shamrock was considered a huge get in 1997.

And the NXT talent they have brought over all got buried except Bron and Bronson. Ilja, Carmelo, JD, all headliners of the last few years of NXT, all buried under an ocean of samoans, senior citizens, and midcarders

HHH is far more risk avoidant and unwilling to shake things up like vince.
vince would sometimes force pushes and angles that weren't working and sometimes scrap them quickly; but HHH always forces things that aren't working and never scraps them.

They have a lot of decent guys, the main rosters are just stacked with male talent. Who do you drop to give Brooks Jensen a shot? Orton? Sami? Balor? Otis? But NXT has dudes like Oba, Hank and Tank, Lexis King, Ridge Holland, Tony D'Angelo, all the dudes in Dark State. WWE is fine. The NXT women seem better than they are because the main rosters are a wasteland of Nia Jax, Michin, and Naomi.

>the main rosters are just stacked with male talent
This is a valid point to raise and what I'll attribute to the long term downside to the Cena era and even more so the Bloodline. The Cena tunnelvision was so strong that an entire generation of midcard guys never had a crack at moving up and actually establishing themselves as proper main event stars. They'd get their moment in the sun to be fed to Cena and then back down the card they went until John came circling back around. Even worse for any kind of upward mobility has been this Bloodline shit that's gridlocked the WWE and other titles at points for the last half decade straight. No one outside of Roman, Cody, and Cena has sniffed the WWE championship. The real main event scene in WWE has been unmoving between those three and a few others like Rock and Seth and Brock for at least the last 5 years. What that's done is caused a bubble of main event potential guys to all cram in to the upper midcard because there's nowhere higher for them to go. That's why the WHC feels like a midcard belt. It's why Gunther competition across his IC and WHC reigns were identical. There's just such a low ceiling for every guy that isn't one of those select few I mentioned. And then anyone beneath that bubble of guys trying to push through is completely fucked. That's why tag team wrestling has grown to mean fuck all. Because no matter how well a team does it's never leading to anything beyond it. There is no path to success if a team splits up. They need to move the fuck on from this shit. There's a rant no one asked for

i dislike it too but also feel like that's apparently best for business?
the historically weakest times for the WWE's business, the new generation and late 2010's after cena stepped back from full time, were notable for being the weakest times in the company's history. but these were also the times when the company didn't have as strong of a "top guy" to rally around.
so for as shit of a product as it creates and how it robs good wrestlers of opportunities, it will probably continue like that because i think the two are linked.

here's the difference between then and now, WWE's biggest draws were basically all men from the golden age to around the mid 2010's, you dont need as many main event talent on the men's side as it was back then, when there's also the women's division also flowing with main eventers in their own right

I shoot think Solo has a chance to be the main heel. His height won't be a problem since everyone else is below 6' once the oldheads retire. He's one of the very few wrestlers who have at least an ounce of charisma, along with Penta, Jacob and Dominik, that alone gives him more shelf life than the bangerino wrestlers.
He just needs to put on muscle. Whatever roid concoction Steiner was on give it to Solo.

solo's in a weird place.
it's not impossible for him to be a big name one day. he has some positives. he's young, he's nepo, he's probably the best in ring of the coconuts besides jacob and maybe jimmy on a good day.
but he sucked when they were trying to make him roman 2.0 and is WAY better when he gets to insert his obvious real personality and put a little comedic spin on it.
but any hint of comedy in your wrestling puts maybe the stinkiest stink of them all on you that keeps you from being at the very top.

Not really. Punk and Daniel Bryan got their shot. At various times other guys had the belt. The Miz. Dirk Diggler. John Morrison. Kofi and Big E. AJ. Finn Balor. Yeah, Vince kept coming back to Cena and Roman for some reason, but other guys cracked the upper card.
>What that's done is caused a bubble of main event potential guys to all cram in to the upper midcard
I'd agree with this, with the exception of black dudes. They really dont have any good black wrestlers, and no Carmelo isn't good. Which is why they are prepping Trick and Oba. Other NXT guys can hang with them. Dudes like D'Angelo come to mind. But the main roster needs Trick and Oba right now, because Trick and Oba are legit and they dont feel like they are DEI hires when they are on the screen.

ridge is almost a decade older than roman was when he got his gigapush. he has a proven track record of never getting over and giving career ending injuries to his opponents. he isn't related to the rock. and the roster is not in the same place it was when roman became the big dog. the generational top star of the company isn't stepping back without a clear successor and vince's bisexual lust to force one at any cost. and if they needed one, why in gods name would they ever pick ridge holland, among all the wrestlers they have? "he's got the look" so dozens of other, younger, better worker, safer, more over guys.

Being in a comedy stable with an ftm vegan tranny (Pete Dunne) isn't a proven track record of not getting over. No one can survive association with Pete Dunne.
>he has a proven track record giving career ending injuries to his opponents.
Big E was a fucking moron and didn't tuck his head on a suplex. Big E fucking up is not equal to Ridge having a "track record of injuring opponents"
>why in gods name would they ever pick ridge holland, among all the wrestlers they have?
Nuance motherfucker. I didn't say WWE is going to give Ridge a Roman push. I said Ridge is more talented than Roman (he literally is) and if they wanted to push him, they could. The notion that WWE has no talent is laughable (which is the topic of the thread). WWE has so much talent they could never push the talent they have. As you admit, WWE has dozens of people as talented as Ridge.

At least. Probably more. Plenty of wrestlers drew dimes well into their 60s, and while lifespans aren't really increasing, the length of time people are healthy and capable of being physically fit is. (Kind of weird those two things aren't more connected.) I expect the Usos, Finn, and Cody to be able to go for a really really long time.

there's a few things contributing to the dearth of new main event level stars
>triple nose has favorites who he always pushes at the expense of others, even if they suck (like diy or seethe bawlins)
>he also doesn't capitalize on people when they get over right away, like how in 2023 LA Knight was giga over and he gave him a run with a midcard belt a year later. i understand its probably from a place of caution where he doesn't want to fuck anything up but taking risks is how guys like mick foley got over.
>the bloodline without roman is now a vortex of anti-dimes samoans that is sucking in midcarders who may otherwise have the ability to be a main eventer. jacob breathed a little life into it, but he's out of it now so its back to solo shitting up the upper midcard
>the ultra long title reigns from a few years ago meant the main event was pretty much locked in for years, so there weren't opportunities for someone new to be on top. it also created a pretty sizeable crop of would be main eventers who are all bunched up at the upper midcard now after never getting their run in the main event.
>nxt is good as a developmental brand, but can sometimes keep people down there too long. Oba and Trick specifically are basically carrying the entire nxt men's division by themselves so i doubt they will go up any time soon. I also think Tatum Paxley is probably the best woman they have there but they aren't really doing anything with her either
>wwe is starting to suffer from the same roster bloat issue aew does. there's too many people now so no one but the absolute best of the best goes to the top (like bron)
i'm sure five years from now it'll probably be someone totally unexpected like Shiloh Hill as the new ace but it's a bit hard to see right now who the next big thing is.
