laughing at meltzer is not a console war thing. and this proves it. yes the garbage he dick sucks from AEW is awful, but this is just as bad as some of those and it was in the WWE. his "style" of preferred wrestling is just terrible flippy nonsense with no psychology and dimeless geeks.

my main problem with recent wrestling is that it just comes off as looking overly rehearsed and extremely choreographed and cooperative.
yeah the older wrestling wouldn't be mistaken for a shoot fight but it wasn't a constant reminder of it being fake.
Not to say the athletic feats and high spots can't be entertaining but it's so overdone and forgettable. Not to mention the overly long matches, finisher and 2 count spam in every other match, and most of the guys just come off as total dorks. I don't know. Give me the top 80s and 90s wrestlers over this current crop any day. Not even an AEW vs WWE thing, just that the new wrestlers are fags.

Not him, but there shouldn't be many. 5 stars should be reserved for a tentpole match that is a Match of the Decade contender. By definition, if there is more than one 5 star matches in a year, let alone a month, then it should be an exceedingly rare case. Instead we have Dave handing out 5+ stars like candy every few weeks, and nobody even fucking remembers the match a few weeks later.

And a great match has to have more than just work rate btw. Storytelling is crucial. Character work is crucial. This is professional wrestling. It's a performance. All aspect matter, not just movez.
