You can blame Cunter and his wife for the problems of WWE. Even back during the Ruthless Aggression era, Steph was the head of the writing team. SmackDown was mostly insulated from her influence as she focused on Raw. As a result, SmackDown was the better show while Raw suffered from 20 minute Cunter promos and Cunter burying anyone he was intimidated by (Scott Steiner, Booker T, RVD, etc.).

Oh, and you know who was a huge fan of John Cena? Stephanie McMahon. Super Cena was a disaster and chased away even more fans.

By the time we got to Cunter cutting his promo on Danielson, longtime fans were sick of his shit. That's partially why Danielson got so much support.

But don't take my word for it. Look at the guys Cunter loved: Adam Cole, Johnny Gargano, Ciampa, Seth "Faggot" Rollins. How are any of them better than Danielson?
