might as well look at the quality of the promotion. It's taken a drastic nosedive from the start of Powerrr in 2019. Storylines that look like they were taken out of an imitation of the 80s (then again, Corgan doesn't know what the fuck to do with the NWA. Surprising considering that even Dixie Carter got fed up with his ego), taping schedules that are so fucked up that you can barely keep up, and matches with little to no build up. Yeah, that's how bad it is. Besides, the territories, while having good booking, are not perfect themselves. Besides, do we want to go back to that era? Honestly, with the way wrestling is, I think this is impossible to do in the modern era and a nationally touring promotion was inevitable. If it wasn't WWE, it would've been WCW.

Though honeslty, let's be realistic here. Why trust your faith in a man who has an inflated ego and can barely book a promotion himself? Personally, bring someone like Conrad Thompson on board and have Corgan just funding the promotion. Unfortunately, Corgan is afraid to give up control of his promotion though he just treats it like a vanity project.

Don't get me wrong, the territories are a good idea if you want a network of promotions to pull talent from but the real problem that a lot of people aren't really seeing is the fact that there might not be any benefit for most promotions to become an NWA territory. It's MEANINGLESS in the modern era.

NWA is a gateway to getting in the PWI 500, getting noticed by AEW or even just getting bookings with things like the Insane Clown Posse wrestling. Relatively unknown indy groups can theoretically attract better talent by having a known connection to Corgan.

Agreed. Also, I was honestly just so pissed at how bullshit some of these NWA tribalists are that I had to do it. My apologies if I triggered anyone here but this is the reality of the NWA. Poorly booked storylines, shitty taping schedules, and an owner with an inflated narcissistic ego. The only way I can see a territory system working in my opinion would be to have it be a few independents, essentially acting as a minor league for the main NWA promotion along with talent also getting further experience in the independent scene. And with the competition from the internet, I feel as though we would have to lower our expectations for the NWA territory system.

Let's put it this way. Cable TV was on the rise so that gave WCW an advantage in the amount of viewers that it could draw. With the advancements in television at the time along with the eventual rise of the internet, it would've been inevitable that some promotions would break away from the NWA to forge their own path.
