What a realization that prowrestling has been dogshit for over 20 years at this point.

I remember seeing posts like these 20 years ago.

I think the most frustrating thing about being an educated and historically knowledgeable wrestling fans is that you know the best kind of wrestling, southern wrestling from the 70s and 80s was never really rejected by fans. For the last 35 years we’ve been watching people try to fix what wasn’t broken. Vince put the territories under by spending his dad’s money on buying their tv time slots. WCW execs wanted to both have a sports based presentation and be a gay cartoon for kids like wwe, cause they were scared to have blood on tv.
And now we’re stuck with a sloppier version of the 2000s indies in every mainstream project. No one even has the concept of real faces and heels or that the whole point is supposed to be connecting with the audience on an emotional level.
