Because the "draft" last year where 95% of the picks were people being picked to stay on the show they were already on was embarrassing and made no sense

Because it's pointless, stupid, doesn't bring value and is unmaintainable with the injuries and creative decisions done during the "season"
Last semi-decent draft was either 2022 or 2023 and even then it was pretty pointless, but at least it kept an air of competition in it.
2024 Draft was a waste of everyone's time, it destroyed the brand manager war between Pearce and Aldis, consisted of footage of people sitting in a board room arguing about the draft with no audio and bunch of people showing up to say "this dude/gal is on this show".
About half of the people it was actually beneficial for like the NXT up drafts got booted the same year and it left a bad taste for the fans and talent.
Pretty much only one who got anything out of it was Melo for being a surprise 1st draft and his successes are still more tied to having a great series of matches with Andrade, working with Miz and being pushed to win the Andre The Giant memorial
