>>18146055Nielsen ratings are done by taking a sample, then doing a bunch of math to equalise the data into something roughly usable, they supposedly are very good at tracking whatever you're watching if you're in a Nielsen home. But every few years everyone throws shit at them claiming they're not good enough. And now everyone is keeping their own data in house anyway.
And on top of that you have to remember the stuff that reaches the general public is basically fucking meaningless anyway. They sell this shit to people for a lot of money, if anything that actually mattered was in, people would be getting cut off for leaking it, as has happened in the past. So think of it like this — anything public about ratings is the dregs that they don't care if it gets out and is bordering on meaningless for anything other than "that's not" or "becoming schizophrenic over wrestling promotions"
