TNA is not big enough to be playing UBS Arena. I think partnering with WWE made them too cocky. NXT plays cool smaller venues when they go on the road. That's what TNA should be doing. Not booking arenas where 3/4 of the seats will be empty.

Even NXT can't fill a building that size. NXT always plays smaller venues, and that's fine. It's a unique atmosphere for a WWE show, and the crowd is always loud and excited. TNA is even smaller than NXT, and just because you have NXT talent on the show doesn't mean you can fill an arena this size. I bet it'll be a good show, but it's going to suck to see the pictures of the empty seats.

Why can't they draw a fraction of AEW's already pathetic ratings, then?

They're on a shit tier channel that most cable providers don't even offer, and people aren't going to look for a different package just to watch one show. Also, the show simulcasts on the TNA+ app, so I'd say a sizable chunk of their audience watches there.

Oh theyโ€™ve got a hidden 2 million viewers just like AEW on Max. Got it. Never forget TNA fans where the original at pretty much everything AEW fans do.

So why didn't WBD make an offer for them instead of renewing AEW? Surely it would have been a better bet.

A lot of TNA fans are used to not having access to the channel the show airs. They used to let people subscribe and watch episodes on YouTube, and now they air everything on their own app. Of course it's nowhere near a million combined, but I would bet that a much higher proportion of regular viewers than you realize watch on the app instead of AXS.

Adding to this, the TNA specials are all part of the TNA+ subscription, so if you're a fan of TNA you're going to have a subscription, so it makes sense that people would launch the app to watch Impact when that's where they watch everything else TNA.

I'm sure WWE called in a favor for that. I had the same thought looking at that card. You'd think this would be where they'd have Cardona win the title after a solid build. He's not even booked lol

>Everyone just watches TNA on the app!
Then how come nobody talks about TNA anywhere? Not one person talks about anyone from TNA unless they turn up in NXT for a little run. Joe Hendry is supposed to be a future WWE star, but can't move a few thousand tickets for their biggest show? Then again, all 3 guys in the main event will be in NXT by the end of the year anyway so who could possibly care anymore

I didn't say everyone does and I didn't say that the show is extremely popular or anything. Just that a sizable chunk of the fanbase watches on the app. Even when I had the AXS channel I still usually watched it on the app. And like I said, anyone who is a TNA fan is subscribed to the app anyway so it makes sense they'd open it up to watch Impact like they do for every other TNA program.

Hard to Kill last year had buys in the 60,000s. That was a particularly big show, but with all the NXT stars on the show it'll get higher than four figures.

I fucking wish they'd sign Duke Hudson. I don't know what they didn't see in him, and I'd love if he went to TNA and got a real shot.

>Hard to Kill last year had buys in the 60,000s.
You are a liar;
Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Retrieved March 1, 2024. To say Hard to Kill was an overwhelming success would be an understatement. It ended up doing 19,700 buys on television PPV. That's more than double the prior PPV, Bound for Glory, which did under 6,900 on television and that was considered huge.

That is not counting the people who bought on TNA+ or Triller.
