Nah fuck that Flair/Steamboat had more of a bad effect on wrestling than just a very good WM match.

AEW killed wrestling because they not only exposed the business as extremely gay by hiring full blown out and about fags and trannies but it even fully endorsed woke propaganda to the max. It exposed all the wrestlers with their lame ass twitter/x opinions, work ethic, carny maxxing, etc.

Very spot on, but he's not being harsh enough to ROH even if that's late 90s AJPW adjacent.

That and wrestlers very blatantly doing matches to appeal to one star man. Which did happen, and saying otherwise is revisionist history.

Russo booking was the only time wrestling was ever entertaining. Aside from that its always been Vince's outdated cringe slop.

The Monday Night Wars were the best time period for wrestling because it kept people watching, period. These days people want to see wrestling as a complete package similar to a television drama but that's not how pro wrestling works, you have to give things time to breath and not every segment is going to be a winner. If you book everything so rigidly and to please a specific section of your audience you get a product like AEW which really fails to engage with a large audience and can only get a very niche portion of their audience to support them. Vince Russo understood how to bring in a casual audience which led to massive success but the body of work tends to suffer over time because wrestling is a unique product.
