Do you think the biggest controversy in wrestling history is still yet to happen or has it already passed?

no one's going to care about wrestling by 2030 because of AI so you might as well get all the controversies in before then

I highly doubt anything will reach the level of Benoit murdering his family. That’s the last real time WWE was in jeopardy and it caused them to change their entire brand

someone will die in the ring doing something retarded, but I don't know if that's really controversial or not

biggest controverst was hogan saying the word. benoit, vince's scat fetish, owen hart were nothing compared to a man saying one particular word in private.

No, I'm talking about dying during a match doing a faggoty flip off of a cage or something, not falling from the rafters in a darkened arena during a pre-taped vignette.
There is a difference.

I watched own die LIVE on scrambled ppv.

Did anyone outright in the ring doing something retarded? Owen Hart died in a pre-match freak accident, Misawa and Perro Aguayo Jr. died taking basic moves and everyone else I can think of had a heart attack.
I mean you can argue Misawa took too many unnecessary bumps in his career but the "retarded" part that killed him happened outside of the ring by booking himself in matches years past his planned retirement

The steroid thing was the biggest story. If the US government woman that wrestling could be dead now. Your opinion about modern wrestling or WWE is irrelevant to this point

Not anymore unless the company did something to cause it. If someone dies in the ring theyll be praised and immortalized and be an example of how demanding the business is

The only thing I can see coming close to the Benoit murder-suicide in terms of scandal and controversy, is if a top draw is charged and convicted of either murder or child sexual assault
And I specifically mean sexual assault of a child, because if it's an adult then people are more likely to defend the wrestler by saying the accuser made it up or consented (e.g. the Vince/Janel Grant case)
It would have to be done by an actual "wrestling Mount Rushmore" draw that even normies know very well like Cena, Austin, Hogan, Rock, etc., not just a former top guy who didn't draw that much like Bret, Shawn, Triple Nose or Taker
