Crazy gimmicks are risky, they either hit hard and get mega-over real fast (like the Undertaker, Doink or Mr. Iguana), or they become lolcow material (like Mantaur, the Goon, or Dean Douglas). I think most companies today are too scared to take those risks. They're literally scared of internet smarks posting nasty things about their shows, it's goddamn silly.
