>While speaking to the Daily Star, Bryan Danielson was asked who he would pick to run a wrestling company between Tony Khan, Vince McMahon, Dixie Carter, Eric Bischoff, and Triple H.

>Danielson said that even though people might think he picked Tony Khan just because he works for AEW, he honestly believes Tony Khan is the best choice. Danielson explained that Tony Khan really understands what wrestling fans want and is also a kind and respectful person.

>“Regardless of what people think, this is my legitimate answer. People are going to assume that because I work for AEW, I’m just saying this because Tony Khan is my boss, but I would legitimately pick Tony Khan. I think he’s very in tune with what wrestling fans want, but he’s also just a good person. I’m not saying anything bad about anyone else, but I know that he always tries to treat people with respect and kindness, no matter where they are on the roster — whether they’re up or down.”

>Danielson revealed a story from after the first Wembley show in 2023 when things backstage were a bit crazy. Even though Danielson had a broken arm, he flew in to help with putting together Dynamite.

>During that time, a wrestler who wasn’t a big star had a problem. Danielson said Khan took the time to listen to them and talk about their concerns without talking down to them. Danielson said that showed how much Khan cares about everyone, no matter how important they are on the roster.

>“I remember after the first Wembley show, we were in a bit of disarray backstage because of some things that had happened, and we were putting together Dynamite. I was hurt — I had broken my arm — but because of the situation, I flew in and said, ‘Hey, what can I help with, whatever it is.’ One of the talents, someone you would consider very undercard and not a top priority, had an issue. Tony took the time to talk to this person — not talk down to them, but actually talk to them about their concerns or whatever they needed.”

Bryan signing was the worst thing that could have happened to Punk in AEW in retrospect.

He came and swooped up Punk's spot just by not being fucked up, which ironically is how Punk originally got ahead in WWE, just outlasting other people who fucked up an opportunity. Bryan is like the second or third in command now equivalent to a Nick Khan and got to retire on his own terms.

its because tony is trying to be everybody's best friend and not their boss all the while overpaying their dimeless asses and not requiring them to put butts in the seats

He's right. For someone with a long career and is doing a glorified pity run Tony would be the best boss since he's spineless and will agree to anything so he won't be seen as the bad guy while Vince is a turboautist who won't tolerate smark nonsense and Haitch is just Tony without the desperate need for validation.

If one were to choose a person to be a promoter of wrestling ideally you’d get a guy capable of generating revenue. I wouldn’t even put Tony Khan and Triple Nose in my top 20 choices. Vince is obviously a shoe in for #1.

>I think he’s very in tune with what wrestling fans want

Can someone explain something to me? IF this were true, why is AEW hemorrhaging viewers, downsizing arenas and selling less and less tickets? What has Tony Khan given wrestling fans to warrant this opinion?

And BTW. I have no doubt in my mind the people who work in AEW like Khan. He's a complete pushover. They can do whatever they want. Being "nice" is NOT necessarily a good quality in a fucking boss. Especially not in the wrestling business. Tony Khan is bad at his job. He may be a nice guy, but he's not a good booker.
