This was fine. It started an understandable motive for his slow-burn heel turn. Way more memorable than just giving him a 2-3 month long pity run as a babyface. Christian is better as a heel.

In retrospect this is correct. Orton objected and Christian agreed with Vince. Because Christian knew that as a main-roster face he would just be a Benoit-style champion that came out to wrestle, with no storylines. (Which is exactly what he ended up being as a face IC Champion a couple years later.) And it would have been him getting destroyed by Hall of Pain Henry. This feud was booked perfectly and Christian never kicked out of a single RKO. He's one of the few people in the business that truly understand how pro wrestling should work.

Christian was decent briefly when he was with Tomko and AJ in TNA. Let's not deny he has totally sucked and been boring ever since. He can't cut a believable promo, he is a decent speaker, but the fact is he always sounds like a guy making a powerpoint presentation purely because of the way he looks and sounds. Scott Steiner can splurge incomprehensible shit into a microphone and still look cool because of the way he looks and the way he delivers things. Christian is too weak and he was built to be a tag team wrestler

Not many people know that this entire feud was supposed to be with Edge. Edge was supposed to lose to Alberto at WM27, Christian wins it from Alberto. Edge convinces his friend to give him a rematch he never got. Edge wins. Christian gets his rematch. Loses. Begs again for another match and another. That's why Edge comes out during this Randy feud to call Christian a little bitch. We were robbed of real kino.
