>be the ultimate yes man
>say yes to any stupid gimmick
>put over any shitty wrestler
>be the leader of the locker room
>have arguably the shortest WWE title reign at the time (Andre/DiBiase not included)
>later become champ one more time and have an absolutely shitty reign
>become a mid carder for life
Sooo he kissed ass, had respect from everyone, and this was the career he got from it?
Oh right
>have your fresh gimmick change killed by Hunter

He got a good pay and a steady job

If you were a wrestler would you be obsessed with being THE guy, front and center of everything? Its not the easiest place to be in and not everyone is aiming for it

it's true and we can never deny that job security in wrestling was a rare thing he wasn;t even over after a certain point, he was a designated just above midcard job guy, apart from a bright spot in Hell NO
can you remember anything corporate kane did? i am legit blanking.

Kane wasn't a mark
He had a good gig and didn't seem like he cared too much about the wrestling politics and still had a career most any wrestler would kill for
I'd just roll with it too

Monster gimmicks usually have a very short expiry period, he made a whole career out of it. I'd say he played it pretty smart, even with all the goofy stuff he had to do.

Kane didn’t need the title. He got to show up and get a huge pop wherever he was, work a 5 minute match where he takes little to no bumps, and get paid 7 figures to do it. Career midcarders like Kane are actually the smartest guys in the business. Is being a top guy working your ass off for star ratings really worth it when you’re crippled with brain damage in your 50s?

jesus give him some credit, maybe he could have a run with the belt that gives him some legitimacy without turning into the first wwf top guy in the world that cared about stars in the observer
but no getting slapped down hard is the smart play, because you get midcard money and sell less merch, but hey you managed to keep a job in the wrestling business

Fuck, i caught myself on the edge of this post by some counter culture sad lord trying to punch down on one of the most well liked and inoffensive workers in the industry who is perma over. Probably because they're trying so hard to get a reaction and validate their otherwise empty existence, and don't have anything better to do than farm emotions from randoms on the internet, hoping some media outlet will pick it up as a legitimate take on the pulse of the fandom.

Anyone got a bandaid? Wait, no, i found one.

he had a career after 99 and that magical first taker feud, it never reached those heights again, unless you think Katie Vick did him some favours

if you're talking about the half mask he got that a bit later, maskless even more
i'm not saying he had no talent, but the kane gimmick was essentially just a guy big enough to look like he could take undertaker while Bearer hard carried the promo side.
