Nobody knows who this fat fuck is retard. I watch WWE on Baked with mostly Americans and nobody there knows who he is either outside of his WWE appearances. Maybe he's popular in your slack-jaw meth town in the middle of Bumfuck Nowhere in Kentucky but nobody who lives anywhere near civilization is listening to modern country music.

>He is the #1 musician in America currently.
Just searched the Billboard Hot 100 since I didn't believe you given that, you know, I am a person who exists and I had no clue who he was before seeing him in WWE. He comes in first at number 56 (fifty-six) and gets second billing on every song he's in. Not a single one of his own songs on there. Some artists even have multiple songs above his.

He was the music guest for the season premiere of Saturday Night Live and then had shows at Madison Square Garden, Boston, Philly, Los Angeles, etc. He has upcoming shows in Montreal, UK, Germany, Spain and more. His 27.8 million monthly listeners on Spotify isn't the same as #1 Bruno Marrs with 111 million, but it puts Jelly Roll ahead of Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton - other country type artists who have gone well beyond redneck territory. Metallica have 29.6 million for comparison.

definitely, i just cross referenced UK chart data for both and Bad Bunny had more top 40 hits here than Jelly Roll (who has 1). Bad Bunny got features with big artists like Cardi B when people actually paid attention to the pop charts. His music has a far broader appeal than JElly Roll (which I assume is "I done made some mistakes but I thank god and country I'm here" boom-clap country shit, correct me if I am wrong)

Jelly Roll got hot with no help from the tribe and heโ€™s a formerly poor white man, so thereโ€™s a coordinated campaign right now to discredit and mock him despite being probably the most successful male solo artist in the world that isnโ€™t being propped up by (((money)))

Chris Stapleton is the most acclaimed modern country artist and is pretty well known for singing at the Superbowl among other things.

It was implied that 40 year old Jelly Roll who started in 2003 is considered "new", therefore most of the others listed would also not be "old or dead".

Its genuinely impressive that out of the top 22 maybe The Weeknd and Bruno are the ones that aren't nepobabies with extreme amounts of wealth prior to their beginning and they haven't yet ruined their image/lives or lives of their families.
Also, Bruno being named after Sammartino and the numerous Weeknd wrestlemania themes and them both being at the top might be the funniest part

No. He was a Dirty South rapper in the 2000s who got addicted badly to meth or crack. He went to rehab and got clean and came back singing a type of pop country that's popular as its very honest and soulful. He's had some hits you'd definitely recognise.

What people don't understand about the streaming era, is that artists like Bad Bunny, Jelly Roll etc. aren't actually the most well known artists, despite their streaming numbers. Their streams come from people listening to the same song over and over, whereas during the radio and music video era an artist was popular because every station was playing their songs, meaning more people heard them.

No doubt they're still huge artists with big fanbases, but as there's no monoculture anymore, there are also huge swathes of people who have never heard of these people in their life, even if they listen to a lot of music.
