It was Ned Leeds, who was killed off by a different writer before he could be unmasked causing the whole affair to have such a shit sandwich ending they fired all of the Spiderman writers and made the replacement writers quickly marry Spiderman and Mary Jane to try and change the subject.

They later retconned Hobgoblin to be a literal who that brainwashed Ned to get his fall guy/patsy and got away with it because Peter literally cucked Ned/hated him for marrying his teenage crush Betty.

Ned was brought back recently but got rebrainwashed by both the literal who and Goblin Queen, with Peter and Green Goblin beating him up. Peter only bothered to get him out of jail when the two tried to kill Betty to keep her from clearing his name.

It was a actually supposed to be Nart Scrull, pissed he was not allowed to join the rest of the Elite/Bullet Club in founding AEW. But ROH offered him head booker and he took that and Brodie got made to take the role instead, with Cody protege Preston Vance following.

The rest of Dark Order HATED Brodie and Preston, because Brodie salvaged the angle and people loved Ten. Brodie dying allowed the rest of the Dark Order to replace him with Hangman Page and bury Preston, all the while exploiting Bridie's death to gain permanent job security
