>This started at the tail end of May, but a series of segments every RAW was for opening the curtain for Mick Foley and his shoot backstory, which also worked into kayfabe, though still performing as Mankind, starting from his childhood, to how he got inspired to enter the business, acknowledging his previous personas (Cactus Jack and Dude Love), and his specialty in hardcore wrestling, at the very end he clawed JR to, which was based, this was supposed to be his face turn btw, as from this point on his opponents are heels
>Speaking of Mankind, there's this ongoing story of him trying to be Austin's new Tag partner after HBK gets injured, all done in his own creepy way of course, even complete with a sign of 'PICK ME AUSTIN", absolutely hilarious stuff
>KOTR 1997 was mostly a slog to watch through, 0/10 would not do again, this is a full length PPV lasting 3 and a half hours, there are only really two quality matches , Hunter vs Mankind (they'll have better matches much later),and Austin vs HBK, otherwise, this was dreadful, in the former, Mankind got a very good ovation from the fans during his match.
>Paul Bearer is letting out is obnoxious side so much more now that he has Taker with him thanks to the blackmail or whatever, Taker only lasted a month before he finally got that sick of him, Kane finally got namedropped for the first time along with Taker's supposed backstory

>I was only vaguely aware of Jerry Lawler's time as a wrestler, apparently he was big deal in Memphis back in the territory days but good lord, he's one nasty ass bad guy when he gets put into any angle, S-tier trash talker and you can hear it from the crowd fucking hating him when he does so
>the Nation of Domination splinters apart, with Crush and Vega done, confusingly, Ahmed Johnson does a full 180 heel turn in joining them, completely contradicting his earlier stances of not caring about race, this completely killed off the babyface fire the audience had for him, and you can tell how silent during his first promo as a heel worse still, this guy somehow got injured doing a short beatdown segment right after that
>In regards to Crush and Vega, those two go on to form their own factions, both for whites and hispanics respectively, and those factions (or gangs to be more accurate) go on to feud with tehe NoD and each other, more Attitude Era elements of pushing very racy angles on WWF TV, I dont really care that much because 99% people involved are dimeless and silent retards, its really just done to edge controversy
>Hunter Hearst Helmsley speaks for the first time after being silent for months in the aftermath of winning KOTR, and oh dear lord you can tell he's still incredibly inexperienced at this stage, he's somewhat stilted and not too confident in regards to cutting promos, especially for any extended period of time, he will get much better in a few years

>A tournament for the tag titles is held that shows how grim that division really is, naturally, the LoD is its best example, it also helped that their theme song is bangers (srsly, go listen to it, its so underrated), there's also any two members of the Hart Foundation, they can be trusted to be good with tag matches, and the Headbangers, oddly, who are getting some god reactions, but everything else is grim
>A triple threat match is made for the very first time on WWF TV, for the IC title between Owen, Hart, and Hunter, it was okay, interesting to note was the false finish of Goldie winning, only to be overturned and Owen retains

and thats it, not that much to note for this period, its a mostly uninteresting month
