No matter how shit WWE and AEW are, shit will never be as bad as it was in 1995.
>b-but muh based New Gen matches
You watch the snippets of highlights highlights the WWE Vault releases. ACTUALLY follow the WWF between Survivor Series 1994 and Survivor Series 1995. The company was pure unadulterated dogshit.

Things were grim. Hulkamania was dead. Bret and Shawn were dimeless manlets. But nobody had any idea how close they were to turning things around and having the biggest boom period in the biz.

The moment bret and shawn left, The industry had its biggest boom thanks to Austin.

Shawn was so high on drugs and his own demons that he even began hallucinating hard, and Bret was acting as the biggest mark in the industry, bigger even than Hogan at a time NWO happened til the reality check happened at WCW and he met the bishop and friends.

I'd have more fun watching that shit if it weren't for Vince's godawful commentary. At least the length of the shows was merciful enough compared to the worst of the PG era.

Also people have no idea of how big stone cold was to a point Celebrity Deathmatch on MTV was literally his own TV show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXy6dbymoEc
You would never see Michaels get that, or even Bret since his cameo at the Simpsons is pretty much forgettable due to the Mr. Burns losing his fortune being one of the lows of that simpsons season.

I'd argue that 94-95 WCW was worse, albeit spectacularly so

AEW follwed all of WCW steps and is now on their late 2000/Early 2001 state
Warner doesn't want AEW as part of the package once disney buys it because disney interested only on WB and DC comics, Warner is even trying to find a buyer for Netherrealm

Only marginally related but I was watching some WCW from the mid/late 90s and it sounded like everyone's theme was just a copy of a real song. Fake 2pac song for Konnan, fake pearl jam for Jericho

OP is such a retarded zoomer faggot. WWF 1995 was 10000x better than the shit WWE and AEW are currently putting out
>herr derr you are only looking at the highlights!
Nothing made today will be ending up on any highlight reels in the future. Back in 1995, while the overall product was bad, you had legit stars that put on great matches and had great feuds and characters. Today it's just a flippy shit spotfest with guys feuding over things like "I don't like you!" or "I should be champion because I earned it!".
That's not even counting the presentation. I can barely watch as it's nothing but ads all over the stage, 500 edits in a 30 second moveset, LEDs fucking everywhere, and absolute garbage theme music for the wrestlers.
It's no comparison. Stuff from the past 5 years (with the exception of Cody at WM40) will make it into the WWE Vault.

New Gen was more soulful than Ruthless Aggression. NG had that corny 90s charm while RA was emblematic of the wigger bling 9/11 2000s.

Everything stood out in 1995 because each wrestler was portrayed as an actual star with a unique style and look. Build up were slower on TV so everything sunk in more. Sid turning on Shawn, Bret's year long feud with Diesel, Kid turning on Razor. The only thing holding everything back was Lupton's terrible creative and refusal to move away from the campy, kid-friendly trappings.

Those dead kwabs are still more interesting than anything WWE has done in the past 10 years.

1995 WCW was just as bad, even worse. Just doing stupid shit while trying to redo Hulkamania when even WWF fans in 1992 were done with that Hogan. There's a reason why 1995 is known as the nadir of pro wrestling.

Any wrestling pre 2010-12ish will always be better simply because the show actually tried to present itself as pro wrestling instead of the weird stupid post meta "we know you know it's an act, so now we're just self aware shitty athletic theater" bullshit that has been the norm since
