People don't tune into AEW for the stories, they're spoiled match marks. They had three multi-man/women matches, two of which contained the biggest ratings losers in the company, an Okada squash match against a local/ROH jobber, and a heatless banger featuring a CMLL guy that only the truest sickos even know about.
You've got bad AEW acting on top of a shit card, this is what happens.

I think the problem with aew booking is that it feels like "and then" style writing instead of major moments and things stopping and starting. Which can get boring after a while. Nothing you listed there makes me want to tune in, it's just more of what they were already doing.

think their writing is 100 times better than WWE but you are right that they need to have more "moments" like WWE does. like instead of an awkward challenge between Okada/Swerve just show swerve entering the venue and then have Okada drop kick him over the merch store counter or something. have fletcher take the belt from Dustin and threaten to burn it saying dustin hasn't earned it instead of a 50/50 match with with some mexican wrestler and a threat to the camera.

Edge's promo was fine until they sent Stokely out there. The guy can't cut a serious promo to save his life and everything always becomes a joke along with him. Killed Statlander's heel run and he'll do the same with FTR. The guy sucks because he's just trying to get himself over. The first half of that segment was great. Edge was relatable and delivered the intensity when needed. Then out comes dipshit and the entire tone shifts into a comedy segment. Guy's trash
