The irony of all this is that Arquette winning the world title didn't kill WCW. That's revisionist history. Everyone knew, even back then, that it was just a terrible angle and nothing more. Jeff Jarrett, perennial midcarder who lost the IC title to a woman, winning the world title and being treated as a legit champion was far more damaging to WCW's image.
