Tears of happiness - she had been waiting a year for that moment.
I don't think Mayu ever wanted the spotlight. Being back to something comfy and small is probably a relief to her.

She's stated that 'Stardom was a company, Marigold is a family'. Which is a very polite way of stating she hated the corporatisation of Stardom. She just made a tonne of money off of them and then left.

that's the face of a woman who wishes she was cuddling with her lovely husband at home as she waited for her kids to come home instead of still working these bingo halls

Yeah, I think it felt more like a homecoming to her, like a return to the Stardom she knew and loved but under a different name.
Not everyone wants the limelight. I'm sure it was interesting for a little bit but I read in a different interview that she mentioned she gets a lot more free time now, and that sounded like something that makes her happy.

First off, that's a very prestigious sumo hall that is pretty much synonymous with pro-wrestling in Japan.
Second, she could have easily wrestled for WWE or AEW. Both had expressed interest in her at different times. She chose this instead.
Third, Mayu's personal life is her business but one gets the sense that what she does is what she lives for. If she wanted to settle down, she would have.

lel she has said many times that she wants to settle down desperately but can't because she can't find a husband

I love Mayu and would date her in an instant if I lived in Japan and spoke Japanese but I'm pretty sure she just says stuff like that to work the simps, same as they all do.

She literally said that Stardom have nothing to offer to her other than have her elevating rookies.

That sounds a little out of context.
I mean, she decided to go to a company where she's doing exactly that with even less limelight.

I read that as elevating rookies being the only thing that interested her in Stardom given that she went to a company where's she's doing exactly that without any of the limelight.
WWE expressed interest in her at one point. AEW burned its relationship with Rossy trying to poach her. I think she wants to leave her mark on the business but wants to put that mark on inspiring and training younger talents to be the future.
