Rollins is up there for me. He's had lame gimmicks for years, his entrance music is annoying as hell, and he's a fairly good worker who people act like is some kind of modern GOAT.
Rusev's another one. He was a decent midcarder a decade ago. As a character he was carried by Lana and then Aiden English on the mic. His matches, like Rollins, are just okay/pretty good. He is in no way as criminally underpushed as many people say.

Seth Rollins.
I never liked him. He's got a grating voice that sounds like it sucks cocks all night or tries really hard to be something it's not.
Seth's wrestling's the typical cookie cutter WWE acrobatics, there's no individuality in his movements.
If you've seen one of his matches, you've seen them all.
Despite their efforts to push him and make him seem bigger, Seth was always the big dog's biggest bitch, the #2 in a threesome, the secondary component to the main event.
Sure he tries to pop socials by wearing his wife's clothing, but that doesn't make up for the lack of sincere authentic character.

I'm willing to credit his ring attire, his entrance, his theme music, and even his family legacy as reasons to like his character. But once he starts talking on the mic, I completely zone out and lose interest. He's either too much of a nice guy, which kills it for me, or he tries to be super aggressive and loud and comes off as trying too hard.

swerve, he's really overrated in the ring despite being athletic and able to pull off cool stuff, a lot of his moves look awkward or dumb, his stomp might be the worst finisher in the business, the way he rolls on the ground to pick up his opponent for a suplex is stupid, the way sometimes he flips against the ropes for no reason instead of running into the normally, the armbreak thing he does always looks like shit etc, basically wasted movement: the wrestler

I don't understand this thread and the answers. Doakes was beyond based, great promo, could work the crowd and get massive heat, was actually build like an uppercarder and he retired putting over not only the main babyface (who was a heel) but the entire company.
The more similar wrestler, storytelling wise, was suit and tie Y2J during his feud with HBK.

I genuinely can't bring myself to care about anything Swerve does unless ultraviolence is involved. He was a 50-50 guy until Nana's dance got over at Grand Slam 23 (which Swerve wasn't even booked on) and then he caught lightening in a bottle with Hangman. But instead of getting a real midcard push, the dude went straight in the main event scene because so many people were either out with injury or taking time off, Ospreay wasn't signed yet, and they desperately needed a babyface and since he was the only one that was over at the time he got the spot.
And it really can't be stated enough: He is a horrible promo. His cadence is awful, he enunciates the strangest words when he's trying to be dramatic, he just fucking sucks. He's not even good in pretapes. The only time he's tolerable is when he'd just randomly pop up and say "What's up turds" before walking off. He's just straight up not a main eventer.

Daniel Bryan, not even close. The ire and hatred I feel for him and the entire era he originated from is unfathomable and overflowing. I stopped watching the product when he got big and only got back to it after he retired and fucked off for good. His gimmick, his personality, his appearance, it made me sick to my stomach, even more so that the entire world was high on his supply and it felt like being the only sane person in the wrestling fandom at the time. I also dislike Damien Priest and Dominik Mysterio but not nearly as intensely. The early 2010's product was unwatchable garbage and I'm glad it's over.

He's been the most underwhelming world champion they've had so far, and the passes that he gets for his subpar bs are genuinely frustrating, because you just know that they're enabling him to keep doing the same old lazy shit instead of questioning the logic of his work. His character, without the lucky anchors that were Hangman and Nana, has no real direction whatsoever. He never really sells what he is supposed be, whether that's being a ''mogul'' (lame ass), a champion, a threat, a family man, or what have you. Nor does he sell what happens to his character, besides doing a bit of mean-mugging. He doesn't have any bars for a rapper. Shit, 2008 MVP was a better gangsta-lite character than he is.
His moveset sucks because it very clearly depends on a lot of cooperation from his opponents, with some diabolical timing issues when it comes to setting it up, and I don't think he's adapted too well to the added mass he's taken in.
Him and Seth being over tell you all you need to know about the crowd's middling standards of what it takes to be a ''top guy''.
