What is Tony's obsession with this guy? He's fine as a worker but he's about as exciting as watching paint dry. Dude has zero charisma too.

All In was supposed to usher in a new era for the company and turn in a new chapter in their still short history, kind of how like Mania 14 crowned Austin and properly started the Attitude Era

Go look at their current TV and its still the same old shit with Death Riders somehow looking no worse than before All In, this is not that exciting at all and you can see with with both attendance and ratings still on a gradual decline

before any of you consolewarriors jump on my throat, RAW and SmackDown are also equally and mostly boring as hell to sit through live, with only a few bright spots

That's great, but you didn't address my question. Or do you deny that Tony has this weird obsession with Yuta?

Based neutral analysis from a discerning wrestling fan. It's so frustrating that any criticism of AEW immediately results in whataboutism with TKO/WWE's equally boring product.

just wait for the ECW arena residency. At least the mexican restaruant has some aesthetic. The ECW bingo hall is just an empty warehouse that fits 1k after staging and the ring

Yeah but All In especially generated no buzz. Only a handful of AEWtists were talking about it but they immediately stopped after the Taco Bell/588k fiasco a few days later. If Mox goes over Hangma'am next week then All In can be officially considered memoryholed.

Maybe Tony is taking a page from the nWo-era WCW he loves so much and is booking Page as Luger, Moxley as Hogan, and Darby as Sting. It would actually be pottery.

It's only dying because the indie smark mentality took over and there is no wider appeal. There are no big stars anymore, at least not as active wrestlers. Where is the next Hogan? Austin? Rock? They don't exist. Roman is nowhere near that level and even he is being forced out by TKO. And let's be real: AEW has zero mainstream presence. Wrestling is more niche than it has ever been in at least 4 decades, probably much longer.

The dimeslessness circled back in on itself. Think about it:
>got rid of the dimes territories
>ran out of big stars to poach (Austin and Rock were the very last adjacent sons of the territory era)
[loop starts here]
>wrestling goes Disney, turning the fans gay
>potential stars want nothing to do with wrestling
>rosters get softer and smaller
>gen watching these nu wrestlers get inspired by them
>roster gets softer and smaller
>gen watching those get inspired by them
