The rare moment where I wish Vince wasn't persona non grata. If anyone deserves to make a statement and eulogize Hogan to the masses it would be Vince.

He could but he's been so quiet lately that I'm not even sure this would rouse him out of his reclusiveness.

But if he were still with WWE a video message from Vince going up on the YouTube channel would have been almost certain.

Sadly it's all just dirty pool these days, especially since WWE isn't "just" WWE anymore.

WWE internally may want to have Vince make a statement for them, all bad press aside, but TKO wouldn't have it.

They hated each other. Vince would completely bury Hogan.

Vince?! I mean really, anon? Do you follow wrestling at all? When has Vince *ever* got up there and made maudlin, dopey eulogy for someone he knew that wasn't either his immediate family?

Vince would make a mockery of the whole thing.

as much as i love these two ridiculous carnies, they had it coming. not because of the lame racism/sexism accusations, but because of real life dirty shit that they've been pulling for decades on end with other people in the business. it's not surprising in the grander scheme of things.

Even Vince would have to admit that Hogan's role as the keystone of his business and WWE's global success is undeniable. His entire company and legacy rode on the back of the first WrestleMania.

If someone has that had much influence on your company's enduring existence I'm sure anyone would find something they could say out of respect of their passing. Even if Vince wouldn't be able to speak for himself then certainly as the man at the top of the biggest professional wrestling promotion there ever was who would not be where they are without Hulk Hogan.

Yeah but those are just photos captured of him out living his own life. He hasn't volunteered any of his time to conduct any formal, on-the-record interaction with anyone (probably at the advice of his lawyer but I also have to think he doesn't want to create even more negative attention for opening his mouth - which I have to think is hard as hell for someone of Vince's personality to swallow).

Do you follow wrestling at all? He loved all the boys that made him a lot of money, fired wrestlers and buried the hatchet a million times. Vince as a matter of business always tried to have a close relationship with his top babyface and create a fatherly dynamic. Terry is someone he knew extremely well.

He loved money.
> fired wrestlers and buried the hatchet a million times
Because Vince loved money more than anything.

Vince would never in a million years get up there and praise Hogan just because he was moved to do so, and since it doesn't earn him very much money he wouldn't do it for that reason either.

Vince would only grudgingly admit Hogan was a big influence. Personally, he'd feel it was himself all along behind the scenes and Hogan was just his employee.

Believe whatever you want and the actual success that came of it is more contentious but you can't tell me that Hogan wasn't seen as the most important gear in WWF's existence before the late 90s.

You don't get to have regrets about how you treat people, motherfucker. Hulk called someone the "N-Word". You wish literal death on anyone you deem should be "cancelled".

You're a duplicitous fuck and the EXACT reason why we can't get a tribute from Vince. I fucking hate you liberal faggots for ruining prowrestling, just like you ruined the television, film, and music industry.

Go look in a mirror and kys.

I'll cut you a little slack and say I am a little sad that Vince's exit was more about the sort of behavior I think we all knew he was capable of but only rumored to commit instead of being able to bow out on his own terms and pass things on properly.

No but he's really idiosyncratic.

Like watch those interviews where people grill him about what responsibility he has in the deaths of people who wrestled for him. You can't tell me that isn't indicative of some character traits (being the most prominent representative of his company dealing with significant controversy is definitely not a good time to get rattled enough to smack the interviewer's notes out of his hand).

If you look at in a vacuum, maybe, but it's just the latest in a long pattern of previous accusations that extend as far back as the 80s.

Like at some point the writing has to be on the walls that it's not just people throwing shit at an easy target.
