>>18348171Maybe it's because I'm so jaded at this point, but all this vitriol is tiring. Terry Bolea wasn't perfect. Yes, he was an ignorant, racist, back-stabbing backstage politicker. He was also one of the most captivating wrestlers to ever step into the squared circle. Hogan almost singlehandedly catapulted pro-wrestling into the mainstream during the Rock n' Wrestling era over 40 years ago. The industry as we know it today wouldn't exist without his charisma and erudite entrepreneur/kingmaker Vince MacMahon.
Pro-wrestling is also unique in that its predicated on staged bouts between over-the-top personalities that are distinct from the actor/performer portraying that character. It's because of this that I can confidently say I will miss Hulk Hogan, because as far as we know, HE only ever let the Hulkamaniacs down when he partnered up with those hoodlums Diesel and Razor ;) Even then, he made bad look cool as hell.
Don't get me wrong, I like Hangman, but for fuck's sake, that tweet was made strictly for brownie points. He just couldn't help himself from fishing for virtual pats on the back, with the all of the grace of a teenager subtweeting his bully because he's too afraid to message him directly.
