Hogan was never really racist. He felt about black people like everyone else (whites, asians, browns and even other blacks) felt about them.
He did not trust them. No one does. Though that doesn't mean he didn't like blacks he got to know better. But just as a whole, he didn't like them. Again, no one does but Hogan was unfortunate enough to have his private conversation about it made public.
Rest assured every single person on this planet that is not African-American feels like he did. So he was not racist, just "normal".
