I was right there on the Ospreay hate train until the MJF 60 minute match, dude really knows his shit. I don't get the whole "he's just hitting spots!" argument, you can see that he knows when the crowd needs a pick me up and when to slow down to build up to bigger spots. I've been looking at a lot of his matches differently since then.

The Richoshit match in Japan is still something I think didn't have that eb and flow that he has now but you can see all the parts, he just didn't know how to put them together back then.

If your entire knowledge of Ospreay's wrestling ability comes from small clips shared around by Ospreay's enemies, then you're not going to have a very clear picture of him. I know you're not going to believe me, you're going to keep on believing what you want regardless of any evidence, or anything I tell you, but Ospreay barely flips anymore. He cut most of that stuff out of his moveset by 2020. This does not mean that he will never do a single flip, it means his style is not based around them.

Ospreay matches can be exciting, but Dave clearly has a crush on him. I'm not saying he just likes Ospreay's matches too much, I'm talking about him being literally gay for him. Dave looked like he was about to cry when he was defending Ospreay from HHH's 'grind' comments, and when he talks about his matches and promos, he gets a glazed dreamy look.

Nothing wrong with being gay and liking a wrestler, but it becomes a problem when a significant portion of the wrestling fanbase treats his reviews as objective evaluations.
