survivor series matches suck too unless there are actual stakes (which there rarely are). I think there's a reason they didn't bother with that shit throughout the entire attitude era until invasion

There have only been a few good Survivor Series elimination matches
>Bodydonnas vs Underdogs
>Team WWF vs The Alliance
>Team Bischoff vs Team Austin
>The first ever SmackDown! vs Raw match
>Team DX vs Team RKO
>Team Cena vs Team Rollins
Those are the only good Survivor Series elimination matches. God, that PPV's gimmick is beyond dimeless.

This is simply a gimmick that should have never become a yearly tradition. It should be reserved for serious blood feuds only.

If I knew all the characters were invincible until then, I might do that

This match, just like Hell in a Cell and Steel Cages should only be used to conclude intense blood feuds where the parties in involved are at the end of he road and just want to beat the fuck out of eachother.

should be a mix of both where there are eliminations and they can happen at anytime in the war games format. Seems like that's the logical way to do it, idk why Dusty thought to do staggered entrances yet the match doesn't start until everyone is in.

it's ironic because the idea is dimes but it's very rarely done in an even 5/10 way

Dusty's version would end pretty soon after everyone was in the ring. so it was just a series of babyface comebacks and then the pin. it wasn't designed to go twenty more minutes after that.

Seriously. Making gimmick matches like these annual events just makes the build up predictable, and ruins the prestige of the added stipulations.

People use to care enough about the individual wrestlers enough that you’d cares if Dusty Rhodes or whoever was getting hurt or extracting revenge in his enemies even if it didn’t result in the end of a match.

Strongly disagree. Like OP you’ve only experienced contemporary wrestling and you simply just don’t know any better, and you’re gay.
The survivor series match is the ultimate sports entertainment match. It gives everyone an opportunity to show of their personalities. If you can tolerate the lack of people hitting each other with practice swords, visible cooperation to perform overly complicated spots that they eventually botch anyway, or seeing guys stand still and wait to be dived on and somehow still miss catching the guy doing the dive. I strongly recommends checking out the first survivor series.

Real. They really need to use Survivor Series matches for blood feuds. Team Austin vs Team Bischoff was great because of a great mixture of story + stakes + talent.

As someone who didn't watch WCW and only saw War Games for the first time in NXT, I was surprised this wasn't the way it works. Makes no sense for anything other than scenarios like >>18426738 said. In kayfabe, if the only objective the wrestlers have is to win the match then everything that happens before the last man enters serves no purpose. The stip only makes sense if the opponents hate each other so much they need to kick the shit out of each, otherwise they'd be better off avoiding conflict until a teammate comes in

The fact the women have one an hour earlier is one of the most moronic decisions ever.
