The idea is peak booking, thats why everyone else literally has their own bullshit version of it

TNA had the same stupid shit, AEW had to make it a video game version because of course they did.

Why the fuck did seth need to be money in the bank? The whole appeal is a midcarder getting a cheap win because they can't win normally. It's not a surprise when the guy is already a main eventer and you know he is guaranteed to win. The reason the first cash in was so iconic is because edge winning the belt was unrealistic at that time.

seth didn't need mitb neither cody needed kotr, but they won it because otherwise they would had to bring other guys into already planned long term storylines, that's it.

They got really dependent on it for awhile, but got better about that in the late 2010's. It's been sufficiently buried to its rightful place. It can be anything from the most important thing in the company to a midcarder's pity push. I think they would've shelved it for a a bit to let it cool off if the PPV itself hadn't grown to become one of the ones worth watching.

Anon, do you really want another midcarder to be world champion? The WHC is already a midcard belt.

It's a great get out of jail free card and really leaves a booker open to change everything without giving up much if something isn't working. I don't think a successful cash-in makes the person who did it look that good though. It's not very impressive to cash in on someone who just took a beating.

No. And there should be more gimmicks that can shake up a match result.
Wrestling in the last 20 years has become way too predictable, across all promotions. If you want to be soap opera for men, you need drama.
MitB is not a perfect concept but it's all we got.

Not really. It was a great idea at the time when the novelty was fresh and a million ideas hadn't already been done in wrestling. But yeah, now it's more of an obstacle than a narrative mover. Tonight's cash in was fine, though.

I'm still fuming that they didn't have Liv fail her cash in and tap out against Ronda
