Neither one of his World Title runs were that great. He's not a great character and WWE does not have the world champ wrestle much on TV. And that's a problem because in-ring is his biggest strength.

I'm not sure what's next for him. He's probably best just being Sheamus 2.0 as the guy who has good undercard heavyweight matches, though Sheamus is better than him.

thats kind of the problem of booking any monster heel, they are only as good until they get defeated, and its often very hard to get their own momentum back

this is especially hard for Gunther as his entire gimmick can only really work when he has a belt with him, in fact I dont recall a single time he has been involved in a non title feud, at least on the WWE main roster
