Heh, Boomerchad here. 97-98 is incredible. 1999 sucks. 2000-2001 is pure unhinged schizokino.

The best attitude era style match is KENTA vs SUWA in pro wrestling NOAH

More people were watching WCW through 1999 for a reason. Myself included.
But 99 is when things start turning around.

Gullibility. The fact is most of us were barely in our teens during the attitude era and wrestling was new and exciting. The shit you see today, like run ins by babyfaces, was unexpected. Its why you can't relive it today: fans have seen everything by the time they're 13.

Pretty much this. WM13 - Survivor Series 1998 was fuckin amazing. 1999 was disappointing. 2000 was good, would've been amazing if Cunter didn't constantly go over. 2001 was amazing from an in-ring quality perspective but horrendous storyline/booking wise.

Yeah, it's like later generations going back and watching Seinfeld and not getting it.
Shit was cutting edge and hilarious at the time. Two and a half decades later, everyone's done everything they did ad nauseam and the social context in which it existed just isn't there anymore.

Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying it for what it is, just the part I'm at is a bit repetitive. I've noticed there isn't really as much story progression on the shows as people claim and it's still mostly just PPV build.
