You're right, the AAA belts are not the same. They have been defended and contested in several countries and promotions, unlike those of the WWE.

Well they're basically saying the AAA Mega Title is the equivalent of a mid card title (Intercontinental) so all the World champions of AAA are just midcard champs.
A bit better than say the TNA championship which is now the equivalent of the NXT Championship which is like lower tier Championship.

The way a dogshit AAA title gets any legitimacy is by giving it to an actual big dog. Give that fucking belt to Cody, Roman, Brock, Randy, or Cena for like a month and establish it as a legitimate world title and introduce a new version of the belt so that the new lineage actually counts
