I can already tell where this is heading. Seen these types of relationships before, even been in exactly one. They're younger than their partner, prop them up as the best thing in the world, just cuz they got sweet talked into it and fucked them. And hell, there were probably moments their partner meant some of the things they said. But it's always one sided. The partner thinks it's fun at first, but he realizes that he doesn't care too much about the other and was just doing this to fill the void in their life. And the younger one will eventually be forced to bear the weight of it because they're so utterly naive. To them, it'll be the kind of breakup that'll shape their worldview. Not because it was traumatic, but because they believed in it so much and didn't think a breakup was possible.
It's just a slow burning candle of patience. An unfortunate ticking time bomb.
