The above greentext is a paraphrase summary of the same bullshit lie he pedals to explain away why WCW and TNA were such colossal failures when he was given full creative control over all programming. The present-day NWA is only valuable to the wrestling industry inasmuch as it serves as a place where performers with inborn potential can figure out a way to develop their talents and get signed to one of the mainstream promotions. Russo will smother every one of these talents in order to use them as extras in a series of skits that make no sense. Then whatever small following the NWA has will disappear.

Impact was never relevant before or after that night, so there isn't much we can praise Russo for there. What was the peak of his 3 months with complete control over WCW? The brief curiosity generated by the Bash at the Beach controversy? IIRC the ratings essentially flatlined after his decisions to become World Champion himself (with his bicycle helmet) and also the David Arquette mess.
