I want to keep going, keep improving, and achieve even more!”

She actively participates in overseas events promoting Japanese culture, and earlier this year, she appeared in a kimono at the Japan Cultural Festival held on Penang Island, Malaysia.

Naya is one of DDT’s top anime fans—someone I call my “Anime Professor.” He’s also the eldest son of a sumo family: his grandfather was the great yokozuna Taihō, his father is Takatōriki, and his three younger brothers are all active sumo wrestlers. I always had a hunch that Yuki Aino liked anime, but through this session I realized she’s far more hardcore than I expected—the old man (me) was a bit overwhelmed. Meanwhile, Haru Kazashiro is a current high-schooler and also a fan of tokusatsu. She’s young enough to be my kid, so doing an activity together like this feels kind of surreal.
