Last thread, the Idol agency has been finally organized to run efficiently after a great meeting, you’re in the aftermath, preparing for the heist against the mafia. These are 2 unrelated events, but you combine them with your decisions. This is a stark reminder that you’re a man of many skills, not a person who can’t focus on the task at hand.

But you’re at an impasse. Your Bestie decided to pretend your plan isn’t your plan in the least subtle way imaginable, and was called out for it by Chio. When everyone else in the room realized that the ruse wasn’t a ruse, Amelia barged in to beg for the cookies your dear Clutz baked for you. Your sister was promptly kicked out. But the question still hangs up in the air…

“...Okay, everyone, I don’t want anyone to mention what happened to Ame. Understood? She’s going to try to stop me even if it’s true or not.” You ask Chio, Wilma, and Vortexia to be chill.

“Would she be successful at it?” Chio wonders if she can go for the neutral option.

“Don’t even think about it.” Wilma takes this very seriously.

“No one likes snitches.” Vortexia agrees.

“Not one bit.” You add.

“I-It wasn’t part of my plans, I wondered out of intellectual curiosity.” Chio changes her mind the minute you are against it.

“You’re not subtle at all…” Crossbill looks down on Mamariko.

“...Who are you to talk?” Wilma raises an eyebrow.

“C’mon, I said I was pulling your legs. You girls know my past and all. Joke didn’t land, it happens.” Crossbill won’t admit anything.

“I don’t believe you were kidding.” Vortexia can see through the politician’s bullshit.

“Sheesh, you’re turning me into a casual fan…” Crossbill doesn’t believe in the storm.

“I’ll take your heart back when you hear me singing!” Vortexia gets a little haughty. Chio appreciates the form, but she can see areas of improvement.

“We’ll see.” Crossbill goes back to bed to pretend to be ill… again.

This situation isn’t tense, but there are many unanswered questions. Do you like it when questions are unanswered? In their shoes, you wouldn’t. But how far will honesty lead you here? You gotta know what to do now.

What do you do?

>“Get your fat butt over here, Crossbill. Why are you back in bed? We have things to do.” Leave things unanswered and get out.
>“Yeah, the heist is real. We wanna prank the local mafia out. It’s important.” You’re going to clean up the streets by pissing off the criminals. What could go wrong?
>“Actually, I feel sick too…” Get in bed as well. You feel a fever… A *lazy* fever.

Votes:

Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical! There are no Critical Failures anymore!

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describ-ing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

There aren’t many material benefits with keeping them in the dark, and being dishonest is never easy for you — unless you really dislike the people you’re lying to, and in this case, it cannot be further from the truth. You love these Tomatoes and this Clumsy Idol! Honesty is the best policy here.

“Yeah, the heist is real. We wanna prank the local mafia out. It’s important.” You come clean. It’s too late to hide anything anyway.

Chio and Vortexia’s eyes bulge out from their skulls briefly as they turn to Crossbill.

“It really is.” Crossbill backs you up like all besties should.

“...R-Right.” Wilma can’t imagine it, but she’s willing to listen.

“I appreciate the honesty, and only the honesty.” Chio furrows her eyebrows. “What is going through your dysfunctional heads that you two want to do something so dangerous? If you want trouble, just keep making me upset and you’ll get the same results.”

“Chio, once again I remind you that you’re sick… I’ll have to do it for you, but I’m not entirely certain if it’ll meet your standards.” Wilma doesn’t want to do it.

“I’m sure you will impress me.” Chio believes in her sister!

“S-Shouldn’t we question if this is possible first?” Vortexia doesn’t know why this is a given.

“They know we’re pros.” Crossbill winks.

“Right… Pros at what?” Vortexia raises an eyebrow.

“Where to begin? Oh! I know, this!” Crossbill juggles Chio’s brushes! She snatches them from her neck without any noticing. “Now imagine this on a greater scale for better reasons. All big wigs know my moniker, but none know my face — if you get what I mean.”

“Y-You little…!” Chio is upset! “Wilma, dispatch her!”

“…!” Wilma sends San Wich to snatch the brushes back! The little knight flies quite fast!

“F-Faster than I thought.” Crossbill pouts.

“You’re some sort of criminal then?” Vortexia gauges.

“They used to call us Phantom Thieves. But we got too popular for our own good, so you probably haven’t heard of us lately. Not to count that I retired several years ago.” Crossbill is pretty excited about her return. “I used to sabotage all their big projects to the point they stopped them altogether, and started to keep a low profile. No resorts for these scummy businessmen. Gotta protect the environment, boys and girls.”

“I-Is nobody surprised by this…?” Vortexia looks at the tomatoes.

“We had more time to let it sink in, she told us before you got here.” Wilma explains.

“The only saving grace is that she was never part of *that* terrorist organization...” Chio touches her temple in frustration.

“I see. I know why you weren’t as skeptical.” Vortexia nods to herself. “But this makes no sense! Don’t believe her just like that!”

“Want me to do the brush trick again?” Crossbill wiggles her eyebrows. “Or do you want me to take something from you? Or have Johnny do it?”

Vortexia loudly gulps.

“Enough, one more annoyance and you’ll be banished from the bed.” Chio demands order.

“But why is this plan important?” Wilma wonders.

“A prank is the exact opposite of important.” Chio frowns.

“We’re taking down the mafia. Plain and simple.” You don’t sugarcoat your words.

“Show ‘em who is in charge.” Crossbill adds.

“That… doesn’t explain anything.” Vortexia shakes her head.

“And you expect us to agree to let you go?” Chio raises an eyebrow. “How dumb are you? Wilma, seize them.”

“…” Wilma isn’t prepared to do something like this.

Chio doesn’t sugarcoat things either, you need to find a way to help their anxiety on the idea, convince them, or run away.

What do you do?

>“Chio, I promise you we won’t get hurt!” Use your puppy dog eyes on the lovely woman!

Chio is acting like this out of worry, to make sure you get permission (and ease her concerns in the process), you’re going to give her reassurances that things will be fine. Starting with…

“Chio, I promise you we won’t get hurt!” You use your puppy dog eyes with a smile to boot on the lovely woman! “Also, scoot over, you guys look so comfy there, it makes me want to try it.” You do this to get closer and amplify the effects on the Artist!

“*Huh?!*” Chio is taken aback by your naive eagerness. Her face rapidly turns tomato as she grabs the bedsheets to cover her shame. “I… I…” She’s out of words.

“D’aww, he looks so cute.” Wilma loves you!

“We double promise!” Crossbill joins the puppy eyes initiative as she places herself next to you!

“G-Get out of my face.” Chio pushes the bird out of the way, disgusted by her face blocking yours.

“*Bleh!*” Crossbill gets easily defeated.

“Well?” You blink quickly.

“T-That’s the bare minimum…” Chio needs more reassurances!

“Then we can bring your apprentice along for reassurance! Vortexia, do you want to help us out?” You’d like someone to fill the support role!

“Y-You want to bring me along…?” Vortexia never saw this coming! Clueless as always…

“I trust you, Chio clearly trusts you, and I guess Crossbill trusts you too.” You explain.

“What’s up with the *I guess?*” Crossbill grumbles from the ground she was pushed onto.

“*I-I’ll do whatever you want me to do…*” Vortexia gets all shy.

“That’s commitment if I’ve ever seen it. Chio? Your thoughts?” Crossbill demands an answer.

“I… I...” Chio is so overwhelmed that her head turns to Wilma.

“Trust him, Chio. He’s always going on fun adventures! He’ll be fine!” Wilma knows very well with the Wedding, the Buffalo, the Bubble, and… you don’t want to keep going. Your life is too dangerous for no good reason!

“Don’t you dare call *criminal activities* some sort of fun adventures.” Chio hates nonsense. “I have heard enough. If you fail to keep your promise, I’ll never forgive you. Y-You understand?” She’s worried sick!

“I do!” You’re going to keep this promise!

“We do, baby. We do.” Crossbill winks. Chio shoves her again. “*Bleh!*”

“Have fun out there.” Wilma waves goodbye. She wants you to stay, but you already made your intentions clear.

Or did you?

You’re too relaxed in this enormous bed to abandon its premises… And if you do, it’ll be one and done. When will you ever get the chance to sleep in something this size again? Combining multiple beds into one pales in comparison to its greatness. No, you’re not leaving.

“I’m not leaving just yet…” You sink deeper into the sheets. “Don’t kick me out, Wilma.”

“…?! I-I’m not going to, I assumed from your manner of speaking that you were planning to go...” The Monstrous Wilma stretches the truth to save face.

“Assuming what others feel is vintage Wilma.” Chio chastises.

“That’s uncalled for. It wasn’t my intention, I’d never kick anyone out. Here.” Wilma helps you with your pillow, and stretches the bedsheets for you.

“Much better…” You’re at an acceptable level of comfort.

“Hold on, we’re not leaving for real?” Crossbill thought you were joking.

“Long day. Cooked a lot. Did the meeting. Need a little rest.” You admit. You’re planning the long game before fully delving into your real plans… to take over the bed!

“Sounds like a hell of a day, Manager. I can’t blame you.” Vortexia feels for you.

“You’re allowed to stay. It’s better than embarking on all of that nonsense.” Chio accepts your presence in the bed for as long as you want.

“…You only want him to stick around, don’t you?” Crossbill is unimpressed.

“Naturally!” Wilma smiles. This tomato is more blunt than the other one…

“He only wants a lil’ rest.” Vortexia is on your side!

“Well, we can’t be certain...” Wilma puts a cloud of doubt on the near future.

“Certain of what?” Crossbill doesn’t like where this is going.

“Is it just me, or is Johnny presenting similar symptoms as Chio?” Wilma is analyzing your condition.

“Oh no! It’s the same shade of red on the cheeks!” Vortexia doesn’t want this to be true.

“Overworking lowered his defenses, and he spent a lot of time with her. It may be contagious.” Wilma didn’t want to say it! “Am I wrong, Johnny? How do you feel?!”

Admitting you’re sick can backfire, but it’s a good excuse to continue building forces for your next strategic move to take over the land.

>>What do you do?

Whether you’re sick or not, it’s not up to you to decide! You can’t discard the cute nurse’s very professional opinion!

“Maybe… Maybe I’m a little sick.” You lower your voice to match your symptoms.

“No… Johnny…” Vortexia’s heart breaks into a million pieces! She puts her hand on your forehead to check for your fever. Her and Wilma help you get some medicine.

“My poor love…” Chio’s heart aches as well as she caresses your hair.

“It’s spreading…” Wilma didn’t have this in the cards, it’s not like Chio is coughing or anything.

“D-Don’t blame me, you should’ve known better.” Chio goes low and blames her sister.

“Of course we’re blaming you, you’re the one who caught it.” Crossbill is disappointed that the person who ruined her plans isn’t taking responsibility.

“I didn’t want to be sick...!” Chio grumbles.

“Duh, I’m messing with you. Just rest instead of getting angry at us, girl.” Crossbill deadpans. She’s a meanie.

“Y-You don’t make fun of someone while sick. Don’t you have standards?!” Chio is annoyed by how easily manipulated she is.

“King Comfy requests silence as he tries to nap…” You clear your throat.

“What…?” Wilma takes a moment to double-take what you said.

“King… *Comfy*…?” Vortexia feels like she didn’t hear you right.

“Like as in comfortable, yes.” You whisper.

“Sorry, King. C’mon, Chio, get a grip.” Crossbill pretends she isn’t at fault.

“You’re unbelievable, Charlotte...” Chio frowns.

“You’re King Comfy...?” Clutz wants to make sure she’s not suffering from her own fever.

“He is now… I guess.” Crossbill has no idea what’s going on but she’s rolling with it.

“...Keep it low, everyone.” Wilma whispers loudly. “If you need anything, let us know.” Your tomato wife tells you.

“Knowing him, whatever he needs, he’s gonna take it.” Crossbill half-jokes.

Not only will King Comfy take the land, King Comfy will take its sovereign! The perfect Queen is right beside you, and her comforts will be yours. In your sudden stupor, you grab Chio as your partner for this long slumber.

“Johnny…” Chio didn’t expect this, and as a level-headed woman, she didn’t raise her voice.

“He fell asleep just like that, huh?” Crossbill is impressed by how easily you doze off.

“Aww, I’m jealous.” Wilma chuckles. She really is.

“Sssh. Let him rest.” Vortexia wants the best for you, even if she’d rather be in her Master’s place.

“…” Chio embraces you without muttering a word.

What a relaxing way to finish a long day of actual work, this is one of the busiest weekends you've ever had, and — with the way things are running — it won’t be the last one! Whether you’re actually sick or not, it doesn’t matter, you fall asleep anyway. Now how deep is your slumber? Well, considerably! As in, you blinked, and it’s another time altogether… and place. Oh no, not this again, you’re being called to the stupid Distant Frontier…

“Oh, shoot. Wrong number.” It’s Esperanza. She cuts short the invitation.

You wake up! It’s close to 5 AM on this awful Monday morning… You have school today and — hold on, you’re still at the Edamura Fortress! The queen of the land is cuddling with you… and a random handmade bear plushy with a doctor outfit is by your other side. It has a tag. Its name is —Beary Calamity—, did Ame bring it over to keep you company? You already have a great woman by your side, why do you need more?

Anyway, you’re wide awake. Whatever sickness you had, it’s not in play right now. Medicine is a great invention. Always trust iffy doctors and nurses, folks.

What do you do?

>“Wait, what do you mean wrong number?!” Realize that you were woken up for no good reason and get angry!
>Keep cuddling with the woman next to you. Doze off until the proper morning.
>Should you get ready for school? Maybe! You should go after making breakfast!
>You imagine Crossbill and Vortexia are around. Go grab them. You have a heist to do.

You gotta go and find your partners-in-crime, but leaving Chio alone just like that is a bit sad. Not even the Good Doctor’s company is enough, but he’ll make due. You place the plushy into the prime ‘being-hugged’ position. As you try to step out of bed, you notice a mattress hosting a tomato nurse on the floor, you grab said tomato, and her put where you were. Perfect, two beautiful vegetables looking all comfy! Kisses on the forehead for all! But this isn’t enough, you should make breakfast for everyone so they know how thankful you are for their care.

You sneak out of the matriarch’s room. Houda Lan’s legacy is mainly used to not disturb the people you love while they’re sleeping. You’d think he’d approve even if it sounds silly, or precisely because it’s silly. Now you gotta find his other lasting legacy, and your very clumsy idol!

Apparently, this apartment is bigger than you thought, it has way more rooms than you’d expect — including a couple for guests. Imagine having enough space for guest rooms! You remember when you moved to the apartment, your room was a storage room that was supposed to be the laundry room, but your dad never bothered to put the equipment there. Lazy fuck. Point is, there was never a guest room! Though, with the recent extension, you technically have one, no? Still not several like in here! Chio even has a studio!

Anyway, you yank Crossbill and Vortexia from their respective rooms. And by that, you mean you gently wake them up and tell them to get ready while you make breakfast. This groggy duo will meet you in a bit.

Kitchen is still packed, but you’re not overwhelmed by choice, you’re getting to know the girls’ palette very well. With a couple of Claudia’s miracle cookies in your stomach, you’re motivated to return the favor tenfold!

Breakfast at this time of the day would be a nightmare if it wasn’t so delicious, Crossbill and Vortexia concur with this judgment… You tell them the heist is on. Preparations are due.

“Are you sure that you’re alright?” Vortexia checks you for fever. “I should’ve been the one cooking…”

“With your cookies, I’m more than fine.” Both your morale and condition are rising! Helps a lot that no one stole them from you.

“He’s one resilient dude, he’ll be fine.” Crossbill drinks her coffee.

“I know what he’s capable of, but he doesn’t have to be stretched too thin…” Vortexia wants the best for you. “I don’t want to drag things down, but if you aren’t feeling it, tell us, okay?”

“Affirmative, dear Clutz.” You wink.

“Cool, because I wanna see you rock the world.” Vortexia wants to see you do your thing!

“First things first. We need information. I know a kid who knows his way around these folks, but if you have a better informant — I’d rather go with the tried and tested.” Crossbill puts the first thing on the to-do list.

If Crossbill has someone in mind, who are you to step in her way? That’s not best friend behavior. You don’t block your partner’s smooth moves.

“Go ahead and call this dude, bestie.” You’ll let her figure this out. You gotta clean some dishes!

“Right! Uff, it’s been a while since we talked.” Crossbill stretches as she pulls out her phone. You wonder if she has his number memorized...

“Who are you calling exactly?” Vortexia wants to know more.

“A kid named Rodney, he used to cause trouble because he thought he was smarter than everyone else. The type who brings chaos thinking it’s just because, but carries a lot of baggage. They dragged his rear to do community service, and one week under my wing is all it took for him to change paths. He’s always boasting about being street smart, so if he has no idea, at least I can tease him about this.” Crossbill sounds fond of the guy. That’s Kangaroo Man’s name…

“Sounds a little like you.” You cough.

“You caught onto that, didn’t ya?” Crossbill doesn’t deny it. “The big difference is that I always knew who to blame. Not all kids get to that, and end up hating everyone around ‘em.”

“...You’re right.” Vortexia feels identified with this tale too. You’re a bunch of angry people, huh?

“I’m calling the kid!” Crossbill is putting the speaker on. “Hey, Roonie! It’s me! How is it going?”

“Summers? You’re out of jail?” That’s Rodney’s voice! He’s the one you were thinking about.

“Got bored and left. Can’t say it was *that* easy.” Crossbill grins.

“I-It’s 5:30 in the morning. D-Did you just escape...? Do you need a ride?” Rodney is going through a sea of emotions.

“What I need is info. You kept tabs on the mafia, right?” Crossbill gets directly to the point.

“They’re the Youhao Clan now. And yes, even after the party collapsed, I kept an eye on them.” Rodney sounds relieved now as it doesn’t sound like his buddy is in trouble.

“Tell me about the Top Brass. I need to know about the number 1 Titan, I’m planning a hit to send a message.” Crossbill says.

“A prank for payback?” Rodney knows exactly what she has in mind. “You’re in luck. Today, he has a lunch meeting with the ‘lesser’ heads of the underworld. Delegates of the Sumo Association, the Boxing Alliance, and the Horse Racing Committee. All sports betting people.”

“I might have hit Jackpot here…” Crossbill likes how the stakes are up.

“…” Vortexia gulps. She’s not a fan!

In short, you get the most relevant information (including a pic!) about the Number 1 Titan ‘Jielun Zexian’, and the supposed meeting that is going to take place in his luxurious home. Who are the possible threats, and all of the guests. The leader of the Mafia is not in the list of guests, it seems this is a preamble for a bigger meeting later down the week.

As for what petty item you can steal, there are plenty of dumb items you can take…

What do you want to steal?

>Their dinner’s main dish: the Rare (and delicious) Vulcan River Fish.
>The Youhao Clan’s oldest relic: an old Army Helmet from five centuries ago.
>A scroll that seems to be important to the leader of the Mafia for some reason.
>Write In.

What now?

>Even if his memories are wiped, say hi to Kangaroo Man. It’s the polite thing to do.
>Plan your strike for the climax of the meeting. Take the treasure under everyone’s noses.

I just had a brilliant idea.

You guys remember Piss Town and the headmisstress that had a bunch of trees in her ass? You think we can somehow get the scroll to her since she doesn't know what the treasure was, and get her entangled with the mafia?

The one trinket that caught your eye was the Mysterious Scroll that Kangaroo Man mentioned in passing. Nothing is known about what secrets it has, but it holds special significance to the Patriarch of the Mafia himself. He has been protecting it ever since he gained some notoriety within the ranks, and his subsequent climb through them. Some rumors say that it’s the key to his ‘sudden’ rise of power, believed to be from blackmail material to an actual magic spell. But no clan member has ever been tempted to find a concrete answer since Youhao’s most capable lieutenant is always keeping it safe.

Nowadays, it’s in Titan ‘T-Rex’ Jielun Zexian’s keep, the hotshot superstar at the top of the Youhao Clan. Taking the underworld by storm, he rose through the ranks swiftly and effortlessly. Both savvy in combat and in show business. He became the cornerstone of the entire organization after his mentor Keiji Rikidozan’s passing. Stylish and arrogant, he became the Number 1 Titan only to show off that he could. It’s been said that he came up with the idea for the revival of the group just to add another title to his list of accolades.

As the security in the place goes, there’s this group of 5 Skilled Bodyguards known as the Moles. They work so in sync, people believed they were one person for a long time. It’s not clear if they’re there to protect the Scroll, or the Titan himself, but they’re technically part of the Zexian Family for what it is worth.

With that in mind, you believe it’d be better to strike while things are hot! If you don’t do this under everyone’s noses during the meeting, then what’s the point of being a Phantom Thief? This is a prank after all! It doesn’t seem like it’d be that dangerous.

Crossbill wholeheartedly agrees, Vortexia understands the importance of performance so she ultimately relents, and as for Kangaroo Man… he sounds skeptical about doing a hit at all, but believes Crossbill can pull it off. He wasn’t supposed to listen to it. But since he’s butting in...

“By the way, hi there, Kangaroo Man. Thanks for the help!” You do the polite thing and acknowledge his contribution.

“Why… Why did you call me *that*?” Kangaroo Man sounds confused. “Hold on, Summers, do you call me *Kangaroo Man* behind my back…?”

Crossbill is openly cackling, she can’t even respond.

“Sounds like you came up with it on the spot, Summers’ friend…” Kangaroo Man deduces. He’s not right, but he’d be on the money if he knew all the context.

“You got nicknames for everyone…” Vortexia will expect this for literally every person you meet. You’ll have to be really creative from now on, you’re warned.

“Sorry! Sorry! That’s all we need, Rodney. I’ll compensate you for the help later. You know I pay well.” Crossbill regains her composure.

“Call me if you need anything...” Rodney sounds like he’s recalling something about his kangaroo ways…

You can’t help but feel that you need to prepare more. A couple of calls, and some guidelines for Vortexia should ease the feeling.

“You’re leaving?” Vortexia notices that Crossbill is about to walk away.

“To the next room, you think I’m the type who talks on the phone in front of everyone?” Crossbill sneers.

“You just did that.” Clutz points out.

“Because you were supposed to listen.” Crossbill blinks rapidly, more confused than the idol. “I’ll be in the living room if you need me.” The bird struts out of the kitchen.

You’re left alone with your most promising new solo act! Both from a musical and a criminal standpoint...

“Okay, first things first, Clutz.” You get all serious. “I’m gonna give you some pointers on what you have to do, and remember: If I didn’t have every bit of confidence that you could do this I wouldn’t have brought you in.”

“Yes, manager, yes!” Vortexia acts like this will further her musical career and not her newly found life of petty crime and general stupidity. Any positive encouragement seems to serve to motivate her. Teachers of the world, please take notes!

You give a Crash Course on what being your navigation support is all about. Credit where credit is due, Vortexia gets the hang of it with ease. She’s almost like some kind of prodigy, the Liu of her generation, if you will. She’s so professional, she’s already calling you by your codename.

“So, review the material while I make some calls. Okay?” You pull out your phone. Your Knowledge allowed you to be the most efficient teacher there is.

“Yes, Phil Noon, yes!” Vortexia exclaims with gusto. You’re so proud of her.

“Want me to help?” Wilma showed up mid lecture to eat breakfast. This is the best she can do to help, because she needs to stay and take care of Chio.

Vortexia accepts the proposition! Both girls start going through the lessons you just gave.

Onto the phone calls, first, you need to inform somebody that you won’t go to school… you pick Vera.

“Johnny, It’s 6 AM! WHAT THE HELL?! Why are you calling me this early?!” Vera is upset about this random call. Silly Vera, it’s closer to 7 than 6. Besides, she’s the one who complained about being called at 4 AM. AND, she has school today! When does she wake up to get ready?!

“I need you to tell everyone that I’m not going to school today. I’ll be busy.” You inform!

“NOOO!!! I won’t be seeing you, today?!” Vera sounds heartbroken. “...Wait, busy doing what?”

“Stuff.” You say.

“Not this again…” Vera grumbles.

“Okay, fine, we’re pranking the mafia. Happy now?” You relent!

“NO!!!” Vera is very upset.

“See? This is why I shouldn’t have explained!” You sigh. You feel bad for her neighbors.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN *PRANKING THE MAFIA*?!” Vera demands an explanation.

“You know, for fun! And to eventually take them down!” You smile.

“T-TO DO WHAT NOW?!” Vera is losing her mind.

“Honey, can you help me here? You’re the best at it…” Wilma points at the phone. Clutz nods behind her. They need some pointers.

“Oh, gotta go, Vera. Love ya, see you later!” You hang up to focus.

“NOT THIS AGA—” Vera shouts into the void.

You clarify how one of the perks of the app you’re going to use to communicate works. What are you? An IT guy? Both girls seem to have got it! Funnily enough, it seems that you’ve prepared Wilma to take this role in the future if you choose to bring her along…

Since you’re tackling the mafia, you’ll give Matilda a call, can’t forget the history she has with them. Maybe it’s your turn to receive some pointers.

“Johnny, what are you scheming?” Unlike groggy Vera, Matilda is up and working early. Not the one who rests at all. Still, a cold open… “If you’re tired, I’ll have to stop you.” The buffalo incident is too fresh in her mind.

“I’m well rested and fed, Mat. I’m counting on you for something else entirely. The thing is…” You explain to Matilda what your plan is and where her expertise is needed. “...So I was thinking you may know a thing or two about what I’m going to tackle. If you have any tips, throw them at me, my sworn brother (sister).”

“I… I require proof that you’re not acting up due to your fatigue.” Matilda sounds like she’s rushing out of her place to find you. “Where did you say you are?” She’s very concerned.

It only sounds like a bunch of nonsense because it’s early in the day, you’ll have to convince her if you don’t want her to be upset at you.

You must calm Matilda’s worries without going overboard, she likes it when people are efficient, doesn’t she?

“I’m at Chio’s apartment, but I’m fine, Mat. Wilma here can prove it. You know she’s a nurse, right?” You say.

“You’re talking to Matilda? Say hi for me!” Wilma is happy to hear about the unofficial tomato!

“Wilma says hi.” You say.

“That’s where she is…” Matilda sighs with relief. Just a little. “And yes, I’m aware…” She still sounds doubtful.

“Matilda, I’m not messing around. Trust me.” You try to sound as serious as you can muster. You mean business!

“...Very well, I will.” Matilda comes to her senses and stops running.

“No buts?” You expected her to threaten you or insult you, or say something passive-aggressive! Like ‘she’s going to kill you if you don’t come back’ type of stuff!

“No buts.” Matilda keeps it succinct. She’ll probably blame Wilma if something bad happens.

“Cool. So, huh, any tips? I’ll be breaking into T-Rex’s place to steal a mysterious scroll that’s probably the reason why his boss shot up in the underworld. If I have the time, I might even steal his fish. Or cook it so that he and his guests eat the fish version of my cake.” You babble.

“Yes, I heard you the first time.” Matilda rolls her eyes. Probably. You can’t see her. “If anything, what I want to bring up is a little tale about this Zexian man.”

“You know him?” You didn’t think she’d be this involved!

“Not personally.” Matilda shuts it down. “After our return from the bubble, my grandfather experienced something similar to what Wilma had gone through. He remembers the time I spent with him inside that dimension, and he has become more open about his past. He won’t outright say it, but it’s self-evident if you spend time with him.”

“He’s the type to keep it nebulous.” You lie. He outright told you everything about Matilda when you met him, the guy was probably dying to tell someone his secrets.

“I’m not here to *marvel* about his *incredible* escapades.” Matilda still believes her grandpa is embellishing his stories. “But there’s something worth mentioning. Something I’d like you to hear, it may motivate you to succeed.”

“What is it?” You’re curious now!

“My grandfather had a rivalry with this T-Rex’s mentor: Keiji Rikidozan. As a hired gun, my grandfather was an outsider to their organization. So, naturally, it didn’t sit well with Rikidozan that my grandfather’s services were required for important tasks. But instead of exchanging blows in combat, they tried to one-up each other within the boundaries of the job. Until they actually started fighting to determine who’d get each hit. Childish, I know, but my grandfather spoke fondly of such instincts — even if he was annoyed at the time. They didn’t see eye to eye... until my grandfather’s retirement.”

“Right, so he built the dojo.” You recall.

“Indeed. Rikidozan admitted that their bouts were the reason he became as formidable a fighter as he was, and pledged to face every man who carried my grandfather’s soul — until both men departed from this world to face each other in the next. Hence the reason my grandfather was quite picky choosing his disciples. They had a fight they couldn’t win in their future.” Matilda explains. “If anything, my grandfather believes he was never targeted by the mafia itself because Rikidozan put a stop to it.”

“So did Flint…?” You wonder.

“Yeah. It doesn’t take a genius to know who won.” Matilda doesn’t like the outcome. “Losing always comes with realizations if you’re not an idiot. Rikidozan started building a new generation to represent his spirit. And his prodigy is…”

“Mr. T-Rex himself.” You think this sounds quite like an action flick, but the thing is… “Don’t tell me you don’t want me to fight him, but let Flint do it instead?”

“No. Don’t be so foolish. That man has no respect for my family’s legacy. He’s no torch bearer, and never will be.” Matilda sounds absolutely disgusted at the insinuation. “No, Johnny. It should be one of us two. I’m the representation of my family’s legacy, and you’re my disciple. I’ll let you decide which one of us will take him down.”

“But, like, my plan is not necessarily to fight him today…” You make an amendment.

“Then decide who will take him eventually.” Matilda wants to know if she needs to prepare or not.

Not much of a tip, but a neat backstory. You’re planning on getting tips from Mama Bodil too…

If we have to choose one then
>>Suggest that Suan De could be the one who defeats the T-Rex. Dragon vs. T-Rex! A B-Movie extravaganza in real life.
Because she's the #2 Titan

>"But honestly, I think any of us should be free to fight him. It sounds like there were multiple duels and it'll be a good way for us to improve ourselves. And from how your grandfather talked, having a rival sounds fun."

You feel like giving this answer misses the point of this tale of rivalry, if you don’t have any other option, you’ll choose someone, but…

“If I’m forced to pick, I’d say Suan De since she’s the #2 Titan.” You say. “But honestly, I think any of us should be free to fight him. It sounds like there were multiple duels and it’ll be a good way for us to improve ourselves. And from how your grandfather talked, having a rival sounds fun.”

“He was the one who insisted that — as far as he was concerned — the rivalry is over. *He* won decisively.” Matilda clears her throat. Her grandfather can be as petty-minded as her. “But I’ll grant you this one, Johnny. It’s a stupendous idea. Our victory will be even sweeter when we outperform Suan De.” The lovable stoic girl thinks highly of you! “Do as you must; whoever challenges him first, will let him know about what’s to come.”

“Cool. Glad we figured this one out. Any other tips or stories to share?” You always expect cool tricks from this formidable woman!

“Out of the people you mentioned, I don’t have anything to say. It appears most of my grandfather’s influence has been purged from the higher ranks.” Matilda doesn’t think there’s much she can help you with.

“Well then, we’ll see how things go! I’ll call you if I need any help. See ya and thanks for everything!” You’re a good, polite boy.

“You’re welcome. Don’t hesitate to ask for help. And take care.” Matilda likes being thanked.

One call done, another one to go! This time, it’s one of the so-called titans… Mama Bodil!

“Who is talking?” Mama Bodil sounds wary. She probably doesn’t have your number registered under your name.

“It’s me! Mama Bodil! I need to talk to you!” You say as cheerfully as you can.

“Hey, kid! Love to hear from you! What’s on your head?” Like a good mother, Mama Bodil wakes up early!

Orca, Cobra, Dragon, and Tyrannosaurus Rex…

Now will be the moment that you’ll learn what animal she’s supposed to be…

Or maybe later.

This is all we have for this thread! Thanks for playing, and see you next time!
